Five notes regarding Saturday's game
1) Will Grier's turnovers. WVU has averaged three turnovers a game. UT defense creates turnovers and is Top 5 in defensive touchdowns

2) West Virginia's receivers. Could be the best pair of receivers in the Big XII. UT's top corner is suspended for the season.

3) West Virginia's run defense. West Virginia gives up well over 100 yards a game on the ground. Texas is commited to running the ball to keep Grier off the field. Time of possession battle will be key.

4) Iowa State's D held WVU to 20 points. The difference between Iowa St and Texas is that Texas can create pressure with 3.

5) If this turns into a defensive battle can Texas find a way to move the ball. Texas has lost 4 games because of limitations on offense. Even though West Virginia has given up tons of yards their defense the last four weeks has had great moments.

Should be a great game but be prepare to have players injured. UT leads the conference in putting people on the sidelines with 5 a game.

Plus All American OT Connor Williams might return.
He dressed against Kansas.

West Virginia's secondary looks decent maybe too end of the Big XII.

Against Texas' D
West Virgina 39 PPG. ?????
Oklahoma 44.3 PPG 29
TCU. 31.0 PPG 28
Oklahoma State 45.7 PPG. 10'in regulation
USC 35.5 PPG. 17 in regulation
Iowa State 30.6 PPG. 7

Only team to hold Oklahoma under 30 in the last 20
Games.

More importantly West Virginia has given up over 200 yards rushing against Texas the last three years.

If UT rushes for 200 yards on Saturday this game might be 24-7 or 24-10.

Will Grier might be one.

Hopefully he is tough.
Those blitzing Texas safties are head hunters.....

Texas' defense almost outscored KU.

Texas ran that game like a scrimmage.
Texas is coming to Morgantown with their balls out.
Might even teabag Will Grier to show who has the bigger balls.

Matters where they are from. Texas' climate differs.
Under 50 in Houston
Under 40 in Dallas
Under 25 in the Panhandle

Because of West Virginia's victory over Iowa St they took over the territories that TCU and Oklahoma won.

West Virginia maintained these territories against Kansas St but will put them on the line against Texas.

Texas hasn't has many opportunities to win many territories. First time was the USC game and the failure of the ref to call the play dead caused Texas to lose that game in 2OT. Second time was the OT game against Oklahoma St. with the concussion pass by Ehlinger who thought he saw burnt orange but it was neon orange.

West Virginia puts their 10 territories of over 240 counties on the line.
More importantly these territories include most of North Texas into East Texas and the rival territories of Oklahoma and Arkansas

I'm still waiting for Simms to attack the ball when catching it. To many drops. Wish he was more consistent. Blow the top off and send him deep ala Gibson. No one can stay with him but he has to catch the ball.

WVU has some amazing playmakers.
They have had great playmakers since entering this conference.
DH is very good at getting them the ball in the open field
