Truthfully I think Dana Holgersen needs to be told to win a certain amount of games next year or else he is gone.

I think WVU should go back to playing tough football.
The Big XIi could use another team who plays like K State

Why does he deserve yet another year of creating a flag football team? Really? I agree with Major on one thing though...get back to playing WVU tough football. The focus seems to have shifted from wins to "just look at our stats."

He has attempted to establish a run game.
Even with WVU scoring 39 points Oklahoma State's defense dominated.
The team is too one dimensional and especially against Texas and Oklahoma at the end of the year that spells a disaster

He has always been attempting at something...defense, special teams, running game, passing game etc. His career attempting is reflected in WVU's record in the conference, against P5 teams, and in big games. Enough of his attempts.

I think you should go back to your Texas board and quit trolling.

Baylor ran for over 120 yards against West Virginia
Texas held Baylor to under 40 yards on 31 attempts.

When West Virginia goes up against Texas and OU they will force Grier to beat them with his arm.
Oklahoma State did the same thing but the difference is Texas and Oklahoma defense is alot better with the pass rush and secondary.

Grier reminds me of Jacob Park and after ISU played Texas the guy quit football because Texas broke him.

West Virginia needs to start getting their run game ready or the end of the season might get ugly

A liar and a troll (though he is right about the rest of the schedule)

You have to give WVU a lot of credit because they have shown a lot of fight and heart but it is misguided in an one dimensional offense.

If WVU shows that heart and fight by spreading the opponent out and then running with a power RB I think West Virginia could compete

No one is trolling.
I have been telling WVU fans ever since the Tech game that this team has major issues.
The next four opponents will take advantage of your one dimensional offense.

Dumb *** we knew before the season started that there were issues on this team. Now get lost.

Can't understand this man love thing some folks have for DH. He is the definition of "just okay" in results and everything else. With that attitude the Mountaineers will always be celebrating an invite to the Cactus Bowl.

If it were up to WVU fans... we wouldn't hold a coach for longer than five bad minutes of one quarter. We would be firing coaches left and right every single season... and subsequently... we would NEVER be able to get anyone else to come here.

We're not even a full season removed from 10 wins last year... and people are already calling for Holgy's head.

I want WVU to win as much as the next guy... but some of you guys are ridiculous in your expectations of what we are. Who exactly do you think we can bring in for top dollar that could do better?

"The Cockroaches of TCU
Discussion in 'College Football Soundoff' started by Major Applewhite, Today at 9:05 AM."

Okay, no one.

And, here's your post history.

Posted on Friday

West Virginia has major issues regarding their defense and their inability to change formations on offense and tempo

Running 100% spread and uptempo against teams with the ability to drop two safeties back and create pressure with 3 or 4 or even with disguised blitz packages will totally shut down your offense

West Virginia can go scoring 40 a game to 10.

The ESPN broadcaster even said it at the end of the game
West Virginia has 4 remaining games left against physical opponents.
Kansas St has always played like that even when everyone went to the spread
Iowa St shuts down the run and attempts to move the ball on the ground. They will even use their MLB Joel Lanning as a QB sometimes

Texas has the most physical defense. Poona Ford is a beast in the middle

OU has three great RB's. When Tech tried to run they adjusted. After Tech scored on their first three drives OU changed the way they played and shut down Tech.

WVU needs to commit to the run even if it cost them the Iowa State game

Right, on Rivals... that no one uses. Hahaha! How many accounts do you have?

I only have this one.
Soundoff is different than Orangebloods

Orangebloods is more of a recruiting board than an actual UT message board. Texas has like 5 message boards with Shaggy being the most popular. Shaggy was at one time the most active internet message board until Chicken at TigerDroppings created the SECrant from their LSU message board.
Individual message boards ShaggyTexas is where it is at.

Orangebloods is their 'sub' site, much like "The Blue Lot" here. Okay, I'll leave it to the Mountaineer family to deal w/ Applewhite. They are not nearly as kind and forgiving as the Soundoff crew.
We eat our own here, and outsiders that come to troll... are never seen again:gun::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I believe OrangeBloods started as an independent site as well but sold out to Rivals.
I am surprise that West Virginia fans do not have their own independent site seperated from rivals or sbnation.

Maybe Texas with all their resources and pompous fans should ask themselves why they have been average to bad for nearly a decade

You guys are the disease that killed the Big Twelve. You need to go independent with Notre Dame and play in the vanity bowl. NBC or the Longhorns network could alternate every other year....at least NBC is somewhat relevant.

Congrats on your four and four record.

Actually UT has kept the Big XII alive.
If the Big XII was deceased why does it still exist as a conference.
What hurt the Big XII was schools who think that winning in football will make the world a better place so they cut corners and screw their students.
Nebraksa taking money from their academic side to compete with Texas and OU and almost causing the university to go backrupt. After that asking schools to give them more money when their entire existence they took more than anyone else.
Aggy who after the move borrowed 50 million from the academic side to finance their stadium renovation. Currently Aggy cannot pay the money back because even with the SEC Aggy is the second team in Texas. Now Aggy is trying to force UT to play them every year. I say screw them and let's destroy the university and send all their students elsewhere. The university does not provide anything to the state of Texas

You sir offer insightful and educational information. Are you sure you know this is a message board?

Let me ask you if the Big XII is as solid as many on here would like to think? The BIG, SEC, Pac 12 and ACC all have their own conference channels. They all pay out equally if I'm not mistaken and have poached either proactively or reactively schools that meet their market.

The Big XII added West Virginia and TCU. Now you could say West Virginia expanded its footprint but it's an island surrounded by ACC and BIG fanbases. What is the plan going forward here because in five years will Oklahoma still be in the Big XII? You say Texas has kept the conference together but I would say that's only because it's been most beneficial to them. No other P5 conference would give them the autonomy to run their own channel in place of a Conference wide alternative.

I believe the cracks are there and soon the Sooners may break the foundation. If that happens...." Whoa Nelly!".

If the Big XII breaks up only one school can say they can go to any conference.
OU most likely can go to any conference they want to.
KU fans think they can get into the B1G like West Virginia fans think they can get into the ACC.

The universities that cannot get into any conference and understand are the ones who are carrying the Big XII flag in many different sports. Oklahoma State, Iowa State, TCU and Kansas St.

Just as long as these members continue to have success UT and OU stays. OU unless they can esthablish a recruiting footprint somewhere else will not leave the conference unless Texas goes as well. More importantly OU understands that UT can get them into any conference and can help with the T Boone Pickens Oklahoma State situation.

Concerning West Virgina. Just as long as they win and maintain a good side fanbase the Big XII will continue.

Sometimes in business you must get rid of certain parts of the company in order to move forward. You see it all the time. Just as long as you maintain the part of the company that generates revenue. None of the schools who left are as important as the schools who have stayed
