Iowa State is taking Texas Tech to the woodshed. 24-6 at halftime... down in Lubbock. But Iowa State has looked pretty good this season.

I thought after WVU scored 29 straight vs Texas Tech and won going away that The Red Raiders were done for the year. I didn't see anything yesterday that makes me think different. Barring upsets vs Texas, Oklahoma, or TCU, the Red Raiders will probably hire a new HC for next year. Kliff Kingsbury got hired too soon to be a HC, and it was primarily due to 1 year with Johnny Football and he was a qb at Texas Tech.

It's so hard to go from a coordinator for 1 year to being a HC at a P5 school. You are going against coaches that know how to win and orgaize teams. He got the job too soon.

Kingsbury won with 8-5 (4-5 conference) the first year, and that's it. That's the best he has done. He's 28-29 overall and 14-26 in conference. That's like Butch Jones and Brett Bielema numbers in terms of conference records.. His job is on the line every week now.

You have to understand Tech.
Tech will stick with a coach a little longer just as long as he is a Texan and more importantly a former Tech player.
Spike Dykes stayed in Lubbock through worse seasons.
If Tech pulls in Sonny Dykes then I think Kingsbury will be gone after this season.
If Sonny Dykes is not available they may give Kingsbury two more seasons
