They did play pretty well, and it was against the #8 team at their place. We lost a bunch of talent last year and I’m pleased with where we are right now.
Pretty much agree. Yes, it is a shame we lost two games we were close to winning but the other team in both circumstances would have said the same thing. I like our team and am proud of them in how they compete.
One black cloud in both losses was really bad officiating in vital drives. That interference call against Sills was horrible and it killed that drive and our momentum. I hate blaming refs for losses, but it’s pretty obvious here.
Answer me this.......final play of the game........we needed about 18 yards for a first down, correct? Then why is the play we ran go like this:
1. Gary Jennings fakes a sweep and is a non-issue on the play (probably our best WR)
2. Looked like a 2-3 man route only...........no flooding the zone at all......knowing that TCU was dropping 7-8 in coverage.

I didn't get to watch the whole game. Though I saw with the box score, that once again we out gained a team we lost to. So it's obvious the offense can move the ball against good defenses. And it looked like the defense played a lot better than they did 2 weeks ago.
I did see the "interception" and the "pass interference". Both were blown calls. May not have changed the outcome, but both were blown.
In the end I didn't think we'd beat TCU, I was actually worried it would 50 something to 20 something.
This team has lots of potential, and I'm hoping Grier sticks around another year, because if he does... watch out.

Agree. I was thrilled with how our defense played. Defense will keep us in games. Before the game I was really concerned about our defense. Between Long returning and Gibson making changes, adjustments and developing a great game plan, I am no longer worried about the D. Our offense just needs to come up with a few key plays at key times and we win both the games we lost.
Let me help you out.......We have receivers......special teams cost us the TCU game......and Sills is 1st team AA ESPN.

O-line next year concerns me, linebacker as well, cornerback is a big issue.....but if Askew-Henry and Grier stay, and Bush and Wesco develop....we could be scary
Not a knock on Askew-Henry, but we can afford a loss at safety. If Grier stays, I think we have some good young receivers who will develop over the off season. O-line should mostly return, so I'm not overly concerned there. D-line will have another year of development. Long will return at LB, but we need the younger guys to pan out for next season. I'll worry at corner, but that's been the case nearly every year lately. We'll still have several good backs. The loss of Wellman will be sad. That guy makes key blocks all over the place. He's a big key to the running game, especially in short yardage situations.
I like the development of Sills....Raulerson could be big help, but losing both Bosch and Lingafelter hurts (esp as Crawford moves on). Benton is a tackling machine, I’m worried about who steps up there. But you know....Gibby seems to be like he will end up being one of the greats
One receiver can't win a game for you. Sills is an incredible X. White is a good Y. But you need the 3/4 backs to be productive. That's where we're hurting.

You (and many others) just need to be less of a knee jerker when it comes to your team if you are indeed are a fan. Your posts are on par with these idiots here wanting to see the country broken.
