Thought occurred to me after the recent twitter thing.

Bill and/or Doc (if you like) proved WVU could build one of the most talented teams in the country.

How did they do it and could anyone on the current staff ever do it? I don't think anyone would argue that the rosters since then compare.

Bill and Doc recruited while the team was playing in an insanely watered down Big East. They got pretty much the same level of talent and recruit as always, and were playing teams that didn't have a history of recruiting top talent or even mid level talent.

Holgorsen is recruiting about the same level of talent and recruit that WVU has been able to pull in in the last 20 years, and then playing against a higher level of competition.

The NFL and the 10 players from the era still playing doesn't follow this logic.
