I hate it when I agree with someone whom I despise as much as I do Jason Chaffetz ... but on this issue, I do. And of course it's making the DC Statehood crowd scream and yell and fall down.

Won't happen, imho. DC is thoroughly corrupt and so poorly run. But Congress essentially has very strong power over DC, and Congress rarely gives up its power. Congress maintains the power to overturn local laws and exercises greater oversight of the city than exists for any U.S. state. Furthermore, the District's elected government exists at the pleasure of Congress and could theoretically be revoked at any time.

Read the article carefully. It is filled with subtle (and not so subtle) digs that are beneath standards of decent journalism. Isn't it amazing that only those opinions that are in line with what certain others, so-called journalists included, agree are deemed worthy of consideration and/categorized as opinion brought forth for thought and/or consideration? Otherwise they are openly, if not viciously, attacked in an attempt to not only discredit what is brought forth but to include he who brought is forth.
