Be better off now if the government would have let us go in to a depression? People don't seem to know the difference between a need & a want . The greatest generation went through one & came out stronger & better...just a thought

I don't think you would necessarily get the same results if you tried to repeat those events.

I could not agree with you more. I don't think our current millennials, for example, have the intestinal fortitude to handle adversity like those men and women of the 30's. I often say that while we have 21 year olds in Colleges seeking trigger warnings and safe rooms, my father at 24 was fighting in the Philippines and watching young men fight and die. Even before the war, my father was forced to drop out of high school after his uncle was killed in a mining accident to begin work in the same coal mine making 10 cents a ton for each ton of coal he loaded.

Events forced the men and women of the 30's and 40's to adapt. To accept adversity and to keep on forging ahead.

This generation, not just the millennials, don't have that inner strength, Imo. Not that they could not have performed just as well in a different era, they didn't have to and are not as emotionally strong as a result, imo.

I don't know about that , if we would have went into a depression I don't think people would be near as shallow as they are ,& have more respect for what they have & maybe just maybe the government would not be giving them their wants.

It would've kept all the immigrating scum off of our borders . ..that wouldn't be a bad thing..ijs

I don't mind immigration, I'm from immigrants...but the illegals make me sick & the amount of government assistance that is given & the cost of their crime , not only in deaths but in prison cost . Just think how much care we could give to our military with that money
