My grandfather was on his way when the sh$the storm started, he helped in the rescue & then out to fight , I miss hearing the stories...a big salute to our American heroes ! The greatest generation! How many on here had family at or near Pearl Harbor?

Had one Uncle involved in the event. All remaining uncles joined as soon as they could. One marine Uncle was left for dead on a beach in later battle for three days while they were patching up those who they could get back into action. He was only one badly injured, but he was put back together and made it home. None really discussed where they were or what they did. Much later in life they would say a few words.
