who Ya think will fill the following jobs?

Houston
Baylor

I wonder if Art Bryles is still too toxic for Houston. He played there and has connections.

For Baylor, I bet they offer the guy at SMU, Chad Morris

I wonder if the coach at ORREGON survives.

I bet Jeff Brohom and PJ Fleck head somewhere, particularly Brohom.

If the rumors are true, and Dana moves on to Houston, then I'd pick up the phone and call Brohm really quick at WKU.

I don't know how true that rumor is. Have heard it, and know of the connection but don't put a lot of stock in it. Still, Wouldn't be shocked given the WVU AD doesn't want to give a guaranteed contract.. I hope WVU didn't hire a Steve Pederson type guy as the AD.

I think if that was to happen, Gibson will get a shot.

Brohom is gonna be a good coach somewhere. He knows offense.

IF WVU were to be looking for a new head coach, I sure hope Les Miles doesn't answer his phone......I cringe of thinking him in Morgantown....talk about offensive (lack) performance....[sick]

Personally .... I think Dana is going to have a nice new guaranteed contract and that his assistants will also be better off as we move forward and put up an even better fight for the conference title.

Dana is respected in the coaching profession. I'm sure that Nick Saban would tell that to Shane Lyons if Shane asked him.

Butch Jones just made a mistake that is dumb as the Florida game last year.

Down by 11, 4th and 4 with a chip shot fg. He goes for the first down and doesn't get it. Dumb!

You got to recover an onside kick either way. Why not take the extra pt range FG to keep yourself alive.

Maybe Tennessee will look at hiring Lane Kiffin since he's such a great offensive coordinator.

We have definitely shown improvement and Dana should be rewarded with a nice contract. I like what the future looks like. It would be a shame to have to start over with a new set of coaches.

I think that is the key. Remember, Lyons made a contentious point that assistants not get anything more than 2-year deals. If we keep cycling in qualified assistants I don't suppose it matters that much, but it could if we keep playing chance with hires.

How 'ol Jim Tressel a proven coach who knows how to win and cheat well.

Better yet give Holgrosen a new contract. He has grown as a HC and will keep getting better. Recruiting is good, game prep is improving and he has a solid coaching staff around him.

Has it ever occurred to anyone that Holgerson just doesn't WANT to stay here?

Have you seen the house he built in Morgantown? People who don't like where they're living rarely go to the trouble and expense to build the type and style of home that Holgorsen built.

I would say that at the time he built it he liked it here. There may have been climate change since then. But nothing a fat new contract won't fix.

You realize real estate is an investment.......and he could sell it......

I think it's setting up to blame someone IF he were to leave, when it may be a situation where he was given the opportunity to return and decided against it.

It's the AD's job to keep him here. If he doesn't want to stay, then he needs to be convinced. He has grown as an HC and we will finish the season third in the B12 with a good bowl. Why in the hell would we want to start over next year with a solid cupboard available. This dump Dana crap is bullshtt.

Understand , but I was referring to the type and style of home that Holgorsen built. It's a life-style house, not necessarily built as an investment, though I'm sure he could do well on it should the time come.

I would believe that he had no intention of moving very soon at the time it was built.

Bullcrap....if a person doesn't want to stay you aren't going to convince them. We don't know the entire story. Perhaps his family isn't happy here. Perhaps he isn't happy here. Money cannot buy happiness. If he stays, good. If he goes, get on the phone to Western Kentucky immediately.

I predicted Dana would leave for Houston last year, and I still see it possible but with a better than expected season this year he's positioned for a better job.

Dana's 9-2 record so far this season has been against weak competition. He was exposed against the only half decent competition he played. One good season in 5 years doesn't justify a lengthy contract extension with guaranteed money. The big 12 will be much better next season. Wvu will have travel to Oklahoma and TCU both will have much better teams next season. They have to go to k state and with Tom Hermann now at Texas things could get really ugly. Don't be surprised if the days of 7-5 return. The blue bloods have already snubbed Dana because they know he can't win a big game.

Would you extend a contract of someone who had the following record?

Year 1...2-9
Year 2...3-8
Year 3...6-4-1
Year 4...6-5
Year 5...5-6
Year 6...2-8-1

Probably not, right? Congratulations! You just fired Frank Beamer. Would you hire a coach whose five year record is as follows?

Year...6-5-1
Year...6-6
Year...7-5
Year...6-6
Year...9-2

Probably not, right? Congratulations! You just passed on Nick Saban. You say DH didn't beat anyone but you don't factor in anything else. How's recruiting? Is the play on the field better every year? An AD has to look at many factors.

Spookycat has been trolling from day one about firing Dana and hiring Gibson to replace him. Feeding the troll is bad for everyone.

Better pray we do not lose Dana. Most of assistants
would likely go with him. He, and his team, are bringing
in very good athletic players. He also has started using
K State model of loading up with key JC talent, ready to
play, and most underrated. Love where we are. As of
this date, there are only 4 P5 teams that have lost less
than 2 games.

Contracts have a magical way of convincing people to do things. Also, i may have missed it but I don't recall Dana saying that he wants to leave. If not from his mouth, where did that bullshtt start. He has some excellent talent returning so why would he be so anxious to bolt unless the AD has made it clear that he won't negotiate in good faith. Now, I don't want to start another rumor about the AD since I firmly believe that SL will do what is right for the program which IMO is try to keep Dana.

Shane will either build some goodwill or cause pitchforks and torches to be raised in the next month or so.

Part of the problem is Lyons already made that clear last year (good faith) when he offered a phony extension then had diarrhea of the mouth to the press about it.

Shane Lyons is a scourge on our program. All he has done is to oversee things already in motion and he is not even competent at that. If he f*&k's up this opportunity... which I'm afraid he will... I'm in favor of pitchforks and torches to rid the evil vampire from our community.
