it's gonna be fun to see a vibrant Main Street in Richwood again like it was before Obama and Hillary killed coal.
LOL. Yeah, we'll see how that goes. It'll be interesting to see how his supporters deal with his softened tone on lots of campaign promises.

He's already walking back the wall, Obamacare, suddenly Hillary is a good person, so is Obama....But he's not a politician.

Let me know when the slave auctions begin, women are forced out of the workforce, and Mexican families are being ripped apart by ICE.

You are one pathetic individual. Mocking people that lost their jobs due to Obama's war on coal. I'm sure southern WV is not to your liking. The people aren't as smart as you. They smoke cigarettes and listen to country music. They own guns and go to church each Sunday. They had a great paying, albeit dangerous job that for decades powered this country.

I hope you're proud of yourself. I am certain you fellow liberal elitists agree with you. These people in Richwood are baskets of deplorable and irredeemable.

The lines go around the block for all the new coal jobs where I live

It's funny. Obama with devastating efficiency delivered on his promise to destroy coal jobs and and the coal industry and then to create part time jobs at McDonalds and then support a $15 minimum wage, that will only destroy jobs, to compensate. Rather than losing hundred of billions of dollars are green energy, why not invest in clean coal technologies. Why not develop a transition plan to lessen the suffering.

I have some dear friends that are coal miners. I employ great friends that manufacture, or use to, coal mining equipment. I'd love for you to meet a few of these guys in a local bar and spout your anti-coal talking points. It would be worth the price of admission.

Hey einstein, I left Richwood in 79. The stores were starting to be boarded up at about that time. By the time I returned briefly in 87, it was a ghost town-like most of southern WV was becoming at back then. But it was Obama who killed coal. Are you really that dense?

Much smarter than you and I was talking about southern West Virginia (Never been to Richwood and you comments were clearly broadly directed at the coal industry). Obama promised to kill coal. The EPA did destroy coal. And if you knew anything about the industry, you would know that he succeeded. And you mock them.

How do you know what jobs will come back? You have no clue. Like I said, go to Beckley and spout your nonsense. I don't think you'd dare.

Let me give you a little education. Due to the EPA many power plants shifted to nat gas. The coal plants have been mothballed. But electric companies aren't stupid. They have significant investment in those coal plants. They could soon have the choice to switch based on contract prices. I agree that not all coal jobs will return, but many could. And keep in mind, between China and India one new coal plant is commissioned every other week.

Had a similar conversation with one of my liberal friends as they were spouting off about the goodness of the death of coal and how the "coal barons" were making money off the backs of the people. I just simply asked her if she had given any thought at all to the 1000's of families that are out of work and whether they preferred their freedom from the coal barons or if they'd rather be employed. It was like there was a disconnect in the fact that we were talking about real people and not just a widget.

Another liberal elitist. Beckley is a cesspool. Basket of deplorables. Irredeemable. Yes, southern West Virginia has a huge drug problem. I thought libs like you wanted to help those less fortunate. I guess you don't fit that category.

Lol. Take a trip to Beckley and tell them they live in a cesspool.

These libs love the death of coal and coal miners jobs. Hillary said the same thing. I just don't understand the mind set of celebrating when someone loses their jobs, good paying middle class jobs. The devastation to the families is enormous. I have seen it first hand. How many other places can a high school graduate make $100K a year? And they laugh.

He didn't need to say anything to win the WV vote. Hillary's comments on deplorables and her personal desire to destroy coal miner's jobs gave Trump everything he needed to win WV. Hillary promised to carry on Obama's policies? Did he ever win WV?

Somebody needs to post the black murder graphic across the country for the last 20 years. It will be interesting correlation between loss of jobs and loss lif.e

I love how libs lie through their teeth and claim Obama did not destroy coal jobs. He promised he would. He kept his promise. Anyone who drives though southern WV or eastern KY can see first hand the devastation.

Hillary's claims of deplorables and irredeemables, libs calling Beckley a cesspool, another poster mocking WV'ians that lost their jobs. And they are the compassionate party, lol.

I never said that. You are putting words in my mouth. I said Trump didn't need to promise a return of coal, he had the state won regardless because of all the damage caused by libs. I do believe Trump will stop defending the EPA in court on the EPA Clean Air Act which was blatantly unconstitutional. I do believe Trump will appoint a new EPA director much more friendly to coal. I do believe Trump thinks that global warming is a hoax. I do believe coal will rebound, but that it will take many years as electric generators will ultimately decide on what fuel to use and when. It will be critical for Trump to enact legislation returning EPA and other regulatory powers that have huge impacts on the economy to Congress. The people need their representatives to vote on such huge issues that affect so many lives.

He specifically mentioned coal as one of his main priorities the day after his election. I think his infrastructure jobs will help WV. I think he will work to rein in the EPA and begin to restore coal as a national fuel. But that will take years, as I mentioned in an earlier post. Electric companies are not going to rely on EPA regs alone. They can be overturned in the next administration. We need legislation returning big regulatory decisions to Congress to give the power companies the confidence they need to begin to move to coal powered production once again. Then the market can decide which fuel is best for generation. I think he encourages exploration and supports fracking (which Hillary did not). I think it will mean more jobs, but it will take time. Our state desperately needs those jobs.
