After watching the 1st half again

It showed me even more what a fantastic job the defense did.
The ONLY Kansas State touchdown of the game came because the offense fumbled the pass in midair, making it legally an interception, with less than half the field to go for the defense to defend.

Special times missed a chip shot field goal.

The ref made an iffy pass intereference call, but KState got only a field goal.

WVU actually had more yardage than KState in the first half, but trailed 13-0 because the Mountaineers did not score despite moving the ball 60 yards TWICE.

Tony Gibson is well worth what he's being paid. I expect a school with a fatter piggybank will be coming after him. Maybe Nick Saban.

I think our team will need a big season for him to get more attention. If WVU won 10 games, then Gibby will get some attention.

I will say that our defense (and Gibby) will take a hit against Taco Tech. This will be a game where whoever stays under 40 loses.

I think he will get HC looks from lower level programs. I think last season his name was rumored for a couple. Maybe Charlotte?

The D did what it had to do--keep us in the game and that is truly all that you ask your D to do. Before we call it a great D and anoint Gibby as coach of the year lets watch how they do against good QBs and WRs. On Don Nehlen's radio show last night he said that the K St QB was so bad that he dug up more worms than hit open recievers---a classic!

While I am satisfied with the start I'm not overwhelmingly joyous about the D just yet. We need to be able to stop a good offense before I feel that way. We were bailed out by a missed field goal when the D needed a stop. He makes that FG we need the O to bail us out. I think they would have to be honest.

K-State offense is pretty bad.

Gibby ain't goin anywhere. Ask Casteel how many people been knocking his door down for a HC job and he's the mastermind behind this 335. We have great chemistry with this coaching staff lets leave it alone and win some championships this year and a few next to come.

KSU had a sure touchdown pass that was dropped in the end zone. They settled for a field goal.

That game could have gone either way a number of different ways.

BUT ... I think Gibby's defense should only get better as the season goes on.

Worried about teams like OK State that have some real good, fast receivers.

I agree he is worth it so far, if that is Oklahoma or TCU or anyone in our conference with a veteran QB - The score is not 13-0 at half its 20+ points

K State Offense 109th out of 128 not sure why some people have a hard time comprehending that.

Stanford held KSU to 3 in the 1st half.

Stanford lost 44-6 last week.

Great, unbiased observation.

Try crediting the Kansas State defense for stopping Holgy's juggernaut.

WVU held Missouri to no touchdowns until their third stringers were in with about a minute to go against Mizzou while Georgia needed a miracle comeback to eke out a one pt victory late over Missouri.

WVU scored just two pts less than the then #16 and highly regarded Bulldogs.

Great unbiased observation.

WVU is being coached well and playing well and is undefeated.

Disagree with the playing well. Not saying WVU is playing poorly, but struggling to beat some average teams isn't great. Let's see what happens in our first true road game against a middle of the pack TTU team.
