That's why the flying WV is so great.... ...I mean would you recognize that image on ANYTHING except a tv screen with the TCU score posted somewhere on it?

Build a brand is what I say....

I don't buy sports memorabilia much but I always wanted one of the WV Nike Combat helmets that looked like coal.

Actually...me too. Huge initial demand but died quickly. I remember an uproar about two girls buying all available during a WVU public sale.

Still...branding is incredibly important IMO. ...not for us Eers fans but the rest of the country.

I like the the Throwback helmets for nostalgia reasons. Be cool to see those every once in awhile.

Ugh, my goodness the throwbacks are sooooo heinous.

I don't like any of this new uniform nonsense in recent years, but as a one-shot deal the coal-gray outfit was not bad. The one new-school thing that does look truly outstanding is the gold shoes.

They are not that bad. Use them for special circumstances like spring game or maybe once in awhile for a OCC home game.

My favorite is the all blue then the all yellow(gold?) a close second.

I've never seen another school besides WVU though, wear throwback helmets without the throwback uniform. We wear the modern unis with the old helmet. Doesn't look right.
