Geno will get his chance. If not this year, next year - somewhere else

If true....then teams that needed QB help this year would have come calling and they didn't. I'm afraid Geno will not get another true shot to be a starter. Will he get some starts? Yeah, but probably because of injuries and will be short term replacement starts.

The guy hasn't had a real shot yet. He's an unknown quantity. Reports said he would have been a cowboy if Sanchez hadn't come available for free

He had a shot with the Jets and didn't take advantage. Perhaps he will get a second shot there. Still a young guy, and has the physical tools. We'll see if he has grown in the poise and leadership department while learning from the sideline. If he has grown, he has a chance to have a very nice career.

No, I'm a Jets fan and watch almost every game. Geno was thrown to the wolves on a team with NO talent and a coach on his way out. When the talent improved, the job was given to Fitz - we all know the story.

I'd like to see Steelers give Geno a chance. Landry Jones needs to go! Steelers desperately need a backup, Geno has all of the skill and potential. His only weakness is his decision making. However, he was thrown into the fire with 1 of the worst group of skill players in the league and a shaky O-line. They finally address the skill position and then he gets punched, losing out on opportunity. Few years behind Big Ben, maybe he can be the future quarterback of Steelers. I hope they give him a chance

The thing is the Jets are in a "win now" year. Outside of a ridiculous offer like the first rounder Philly got for Bradford, the Jets were not moving Geno so that Fitzpatrick can be backed up by two project QBs that have no business on the field this year.

Geno is still a big time question mark, but like I say to all of his haters, a front office and coaching staff who has zero tie to him had him penciled in as the week 1 starter last year. His last two appearances he put up strong numbers. A non football injury sidelined him and the veteran held onto the job. The Jets have every reason to cut him but have not. It says that they believe at bare minimum he is a #2 in this league, which isn't a bad gig.

No doubt the Steelers need a backup.

....I'll leave it at that....
