I'm really surprised Gary Johnson has no traction....

Fiscal conservative, social liberal, well liked governor, successful business career and embodies the tea party ideals.....

But nope, that side of the aisle wants a guy who is anything but a conservative.

mind blowing.

Again, with Coops link in mind, the only people I personally know supporting Johnson are disenfranchised Republicans. All of the Dems I know are doing the same thing this board is doing and that's making excuses for Hillary and rationalizing because the likely other outcome is a Trump Presidency.

So basically it's #NeverTrump vs. #NeverHilly

Most people know very little about him as well, about his time as Gov, etc. The "Never Trump" of the Republican party could have easily made this a real 3 way race had they publicly supported Johnson, and if there was ever an election to bring about a 3rd party that can survive long term, this would have been it.

With him polling at something like 10%, we're all gonna need knee pads.

I mean if you look at the board, there are only a couple of people enthusiastically supporting either candidate.

You have Rob and 82 enthusiastically supporting Trump.

You have Bru, WVMade, and RPJ enthusiastically supporting Hillary.

The rest are holding their nose and voting. Then you have some of us in the #personalintegrity boat voting for Johnson. I haven't seen anyone come out to say they are voting for Jill Stein.

And I just realized how funny it is, specifically The Who part of it, enthusiastically supporting their candidate.

I could support a competent 3rd party candidate like Bloomberg. But Johnson seems to be a little whacky. And he didn't know what Aleppo was. That's pretty bad. What other big world issues is he ignorant of? Has smoking that dope made him stupid?

Well, his political leanings are moot since he's DOA in this race. My leanings coincide with Hillary, but she's such a Bee-yitch. Trump is just a clueless dumpster fire and his platform changes by the day. He's a political chameleon.

He's a pretty awful candidate, but give him his cred - he's going to win a whole bunch of money for his party's 2020 election cycle.

This is truth. I keep thinking I will wake up and this election cycle was just a bad dream. Have we really come to this as the best and the brightest for President.

Why are you surprised. The man has no command of either fiscal responsibility, international issues and he didn't know about Aleppo. I can't believe he had any following.

He had the best line when those idiots were talking about shovel ready jobs, what a bunch of bull **** that was, and he said his dog provided more shovel ready jobs than Obama ever could. Remember when the elitist Obama and GE CEO laughed that shovel ready wasn't that shovel ready. Govt employees at their best.

You've said she is by far qualified for the position, you voted for her in the Primary, and have said you are voting for her in the general. Not to mention, you defend her at every "conspiracy".

If anyone would know a lack of character it would be you. Must be hell facing yourself in the mirror everyday.

It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to infer who he supports and with the vigorous nature he defends her, it's not really a stretch to call it enthusiastic.

I've literally never seen a person more lacking in self awareness than he is. It's almost comical if it wasn't so sad and pathetic.

more lies. Never said I voted for her in the primary and have not said I intend to vote for her in the general. I have never said I support her in any way and in fact have said the opposite going on two years. Only thing I have said is out of Trump and Hillary, she is by far the most qualified.

You are either dumb or just like to lie. Personally, I think it is both. But you have a lot of company on this board so you got that going for you. That is about it.

apologize? To who? Why do you have such a high opinion of yourself? Who the f wants an apology from scum like you? Like it is sincere or like you actually regret lying or just being a scumbag? You have proven over and over that you will say and even commit to certain behavior and then violate that commitment before the sun goes down. That is your character problem. Your word means nothing and your actions mean everything.

Just try and not represent other people's opinions if you don't know. Don't attempt to be smart. You are not. Just go on your way and post ridiculous and stupid opinions on every subject under the sun like you think you are an authority on all topics. Most reasonable people laugh and mock idiots like yourself. I have told you being this is the third time, I will not engage you in a conversation on any of your diatribes. But you misrepresent my opinion or something I have stated in the past to the point it is a bold face lie, I will put you in your place like I have dozens of times. So, just go on and be the fool you are and you will get nothing out of me. Capice?

Nobody asked me, but I don't feel as though Johnson did himself much good (and probably hurt his cause as much as anything) on his 60 Minutes interview. IMO.....and by direct comparison.....Weld would be a far better guy at the top of their ticket.

Johnson has no traction for the same reasons no other third party candidate has gotten any traction: First, he gets so little coverage that you probably couldn't find two people in a room of 50 who know anything about him. More importantly, most people consider themselves either Democrats or Republicans, with a significant slice of the population being independent voters who rarely if ever vote a straight ticket. The latter group will swing the election one way or the other, but all three tend to view a vote for a candidate like Johnson as a wasted vote. If any party is ever to unseat one of the two major parties it will have to work its way up from the state and Congressional level the way the original GOP did 150 years ago when it absorbed the last of the old Whig party. Heck, Lincoln's election was a near-run thing and may not have happened if the Democrats had not split their ticket, but even if he had lost the Republicans had won control of both houses of Congress and the days of proslavery Democrats controlling the country were over.

"he didn't know about Aleppo"

This is such a ******** argument, especially when you look at the other 2 candidates.

"we need to kill their families"
"I didn't use a government computer"
"I know more about ISIS than the generals"
"I didn't email classified documents"
"We should give Japan and South Korea nukes"

This is what I love. People bash Gary Johnson for not knowing Aleppo yet give a free pass to the Administration that has interfered with it, delaying the war and increasing more causalities. If USA never interfered with Syrian Crisis, it would have most likely been already over. But nope, USA has been and still aiding the Syrian rebels, most of which are terrorists. But that's not shocking since the Government also handed Mexican Drug Cartels high powered rifles just a few years ago.

Not knowing Aleppo = very bad!

Creating Aleppo disaster = very good!

Oh yeah, there will never be a 3rd party candidate. 1) Republicans and Democrats are the same once elected in office, all puppets and sell-outs. 2)Both parties aggressively push propaganda to cut the head off the snake of a 3rd party candidate. Obama just recently said that a vote for Johnson is a vote for Trump. Of course, the Republicans say the same thing but a vote for Hillary instead. Both work together to not allow any 3rd party candidate to debate. Both parties got big money while 3rd party candidates have very limited campaign cash.

Americans are brainwashed or perhaps I should be PC and say conditioned into thinking only 2 possible candidates exist. You must pick 1 party, defend that party no matter the treachery and actively go against the other party no matter the cost.

People put political party before country and that's why our country has turned into a mess and only getting worse.

Not having an understanding of what is going on in this world is very bad. Not understanding this concept as it pertains to picking a candidate to support is ignorant on your part. Hell, the idiot again showed he is dumber than dirt last night not able to name a single foreign leader he likes. Wide open question. And you morons are willing to vote for this guy? And in the next breath you don't understand what is wrong with America? My god. Look in the mirror.

Obama phone and stash. Hands up don't shoot. Baby mama. Free stuff. Free education. No responsibility. Too many criminals in jail. The real problem is that our politicians have pandered to everybody and hands out political favors for money or votes. As M Thatcher said," The problem with socialism is, sooner or later you run out of others people money."
