This is an example of why so many people take issue with this President. What was turning into a nice speech gets derailed by stupid **** like this.

Did he bring on the second greatest recession in our history?

The president has done absolutely nothing to divide this country. It's the reaction of the left and right to significant issues that are important to both sides that is divisive.

BTW, have they confirmed that Supreme Court nominee yet?

He hasn't done anything to divide the country? It is the reaction of the left and right to him that divides us. Congratulations for clearing that up.

He played as big a role in the recession as anyone else in Congress. It is funny how the same people who forgive Barrack because of congress forget that the man was a senator when Bush was president.

It's funny as hell (not really funny) that people like you accuse the President of being a divider yet Congress won't even do their job and consider a Supreme Court nominee.

It's funny as hell that people like you accuse the President of being a divider yet Congress shut the government down simply to "prove a point".

It's funny as hell that people like you accuse the President of being a divider yet practically worship Putin.

It's funny as hell that people like you consider the President as a divider yet support people like the Bundys that commit treason and point weapons at government employees and destroy government property.

I worship Putin? I support the Bundy's? I think it is funny that people like you blame Congress for not doing something in defense of a guy who rarely if ever voted on any bill or action of the senate during his term.

The senate this year has passed more laws than any senate since I believe the 60's. You are unhappy because the American people spoke and elected a congress you don't like.

really? he is blameless in dividing the country, even deeping pre-existing dividing issues not originally caused by him? And then to say it's the reaction to issues as the cause for division. He's totally immune by "absolutely nothing". interesting logic.

Obama is no more a divider than Bush. The war in Iraq divided America a lot more than Obama's words....my opinion.

From the article you cited: “Republicans are on pace to work the fewest days that the Senate has worked in more than 60 years. Sixty years ago, the country was much, much smaller, a lot fewer people here, a lot less business, but even with that, we’re working less than they did 60 years ago,” Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat, said on the chamber floor two weeks ago, pleading with Republican leaders to stay in session to keep debating bills."

The 114th Congress has passed the fewest bills dating all the way back to 1973 (maybe further but that's all the stats the article provided).

It was moron. Should I spell it "moran" for you conservatives?

So you just want to ignore the fact that Congress is off to a dtart to outpace any congress than 1990? You are a partisan fool.

I'll be honest, we shouldn't be passing bill after bill anyways. Our government has gotten too big. What I mean is not what a lot of people think of "Big Government". I mean that our government officials (Congress) should be at an "as needed" basis, and not full-time employees. Passing bills each day, some of which are just honorary bills to salute someone, or name a bridge or highway, is not what their job was intended for. When there is a problem, they should work to fix it. Not stick their heads in the sand or not budge from the table during debates.

Conservatives feel the same way. Unfortunately, we view the problems differently than liberals do. I, for one, think that our representatives should have full time jobs and only serve like state legislatures. Two to three months a year with those broken down into 2 to 3 segments per year. We have gotten the government we deserve.
