SC ruling. Makes me sick on so many levels

My thoughts if anyone cares.

1. Makes me sick that for 7 years, the congress has blocked everything Obama has attempted to do and this country has fallen backwards because of it and has forced Obama use EO's when he shouldn't. This is one of those times.
2. I actually agree with the lower courts that the President doesn't have the right to sign an EO for this issue. However, I do appreciate what Obama tried to do and I support his position on the subject as Congress is worthless and people in this country deserve better. He is just wrong as President and his use of a EO in this instance. Makes me sick that the issue in #1 made him to take this action but the ruling is correct, imo.
3. Makes me sick that the Congress won't act on a court nominee that makes the SC unable to do their job.
4. Makes me sick that the SC is so damn split between political idealology on cases such as this. The Justices shouldn't be political but they are and some of the Justices are proud to be so. It isn't how the SC should work and we have had many bad decisions over the past 20 years because of it. None worse than the political contributions by corporations. That only makes DC worse and the country suffers.
5. Makes me sick that as a citizen, I have zero hope that this election in November will not make a difference in this dysfunction.

I'm done.

I would say the last 11 years.

I don't have issue with EOs. I didn't agree with this one and the courts got it right.

How can you say the court can't do its job? It just did.

Strongly agree with your first point. They don't rule on the law in a lot of instances.

This election will cause it to get worse, regardless of whichever of the 2 jackasses get elected.

SC in a locked 4-4 tie and letting the lower court decision stand is constitutionally correct. However, it isn't meant to have 4-4 ties. It isn't fully functioning as it should due to Congress dysfunction.

The SC has been partisan for decades now. Only 1 or 2 justices can I think of being non-partisan.

This congress exists because america was sick of Obama and they were voted in to stop him.

I agree. It isn't a new opinion at all.
I usually don't agree with a lot you say, but always keep this in mind: "I'm just a soul whose intentions are good, please don't let me be misunderstood."

Seeing so many 5-4, and now 4-4 decisions is so very disturbing. You hit #4 on the head.

Maybe #4 means they are irrelevant in today's World like most Politicians. Politicians need to be there for the people and not the party

In the end this ruling on immigration is the best thing that could have happened to Hillary, Gonna bring out the Hispanic vote in full force even more than the "self deportation" BS Mitt tried to peddle. Their outreach failed, demographics don't lie, the Trump bump is just a big fish in a little bubble.

Can you honestly say the Obama has tried to work with Congress? From everything I've read/heard in the news is that he has alienated Congress....even those within in his own party.

Yes, it is my opinion he has tried and has failed miserably at working with congress. But when McConnell says before he is even in office that they will say no to everything, I am also amazed how much Obama has actually gotten done with Congress. But it isn't even close to being enough.

Criticize my opinion as you wish.

I'm not criticizing - just pointing out that everyone - and that includes Congress and Obama - have not worked together and that it's not just one or the other. However Obama is THE leader of our country and with that I think he needs to set the example and I think he failed miserably at that during his tenure.

Yeah, I'm afraid his "Elections have consequences, John" comment sort of set the stage for sour relations. And then it came back to bite him in the 2010 midterms and again in 2012 when the GOP took over the Senate. But on the other hand he's only the president -- it's up to Congress to produce legislation and what has it done since 2009? 60-some votes to defund Obamacare with the only propose alternative being "not Obamacare" but no plan, sequestration, two government shutdowns, a near default on the debt followed by the first downgrade of America's credit rating in history, allowing the highway fund to run out of money while roads and bridges literally disintegrate under our feet, dozens of nominations with no action in the Senate, including the stupendously irresponsible "don't even bother sending a name" to replace Scalia. I can't wait to see who President Trump proposes - probably Judge Judy.

Comments from Democrats make it sound like Obama has no desire to move on agenda that isn't of his own making.

Leaders overcome those hurdles, those comments.... he never was, and never has been, a leader.

You realize that the dems had both houses and chose to do health care and nothing else The people, fed up with the healthcare, chose to kick them out. The people spoke. You must not be old enough to know that lot of decisions are 5-4. Always has been, always will be. A wise Latino woman could tell you that.

This congress exists because the tea party idiots were foolish enough to believe the propaganda of extremists like Ted Cruz promising to overturn the Affordable Health Care Act when he knew deep in his heart they couldn't pull it off; it was a ruse to get elected.

FIFY.

Just offering some incite into the SC decisions. Rarely is it not 5-4. Whichever way the court leans is usually 5-4 on the tough decisions. You seemed to think that it was only recently.

I will agree with you on the over turn. Of course, since most of it has been delayed since it is so widely unpopular, the next president will have to deal with all the economic problems that has been delayed by it's chief promoter until he leaves office.

I realize it is often 5-4 and previously stated it. Also previously stated that SO MANY are that way and it is concerning. You took my words and changed them for a reason I don't know why but you are wrong with your recently comment. Dead wrong.

So I changed your words? How? A lot of liberal decisions are 5-4 and conservative are 5-4. It's just the conservative ones that you are upset about. If Scalia hadn't passed away, the decision would have been 5-4 in favor of the lower court anyway. What recent comment are you referring to about me being dead wrong?

It makes me sick as well. What's scary, is the fact that the Supreme Court's vote should have been 8-0 against Obama. Four of those justices clearly ignored our Constitution.

Harry Reid blocked votes all of the time.

Obama has been one of the most divisive presidents in recent history. He ignores the people. The majority did not want Obamacare. He and his party ignored the People and forced it down the throats of Americans.

We need someone who will listen to the People, not someone who will do what he or she thinks is best for the People. They work for us and they should listen to us.

Every branch of government is corrupt. The four justices who voted in favor of Obama creating an immigration law and going around Congress, should be forced to step down. Especially since it was blatantly clear they ignored the Constitution. They are in place to uphold the Constitution. To go against it, is to go against the People. If one goes against the People, they should be removed from office.

It is not the obligation of congress to agree with the president. The president is not entitled to exec. priv. just because he does not like inaction of congress. According to Constitution, bills/laws are originated in congress.
