Oh, the communion plate. Got it. I read it and it went right over my head. I read it as offering plate. Catholics didn't have a plate, we took it straight from the Priest. Badum dum dum!

OK, Dog. Share with me what is so complex and funny about this plate. I have been to Presbyterian and Baptist church while celebrating communion. The first plate has bread in it, followed by a plate that has wine(grapefruit juice) in it.
What did Donald do that was so hilarious? Did he remove the bread or wine from plate and replace it with a C-note? Or was one of the plates empty when it was passed down the isle to Trump? Someone help the Old Man, I didn't sleep worth a **** last night, and this may have been the secret that I was trying to resolve. Help me -don't let me loose another night's sleep.

It is simple. Trump mistaken a communion plate of some type for the offering. Simple mistake. No big deal.
Trump mistook the communion plate for the offering plate. If he is Catholic, he would be unaware of a communion plate as we don't use them.
Trump is Presbyterian. From what i know of their services, they do not have a Eucharist each service like Catholics and Episcopalians do
Gotcha. Outside of the Catholic faith, I am pretty much clueless how the other sects of Christianity do their stuff. The time I spent in a Baptist church which was significant, we never did communion. I'm still amazed we had 34 replies to this thread about a non-story.
Not to prolong the Christianity, but both Baptist and Presbyterian do accept the elements of bread and wine in remembrance of Him who died for us. The frequency is local option. I have observed as youth in Baptist church and participated as adult in Presbyterian. Will not get into a prolonged discussion on religion.
