Crest might be a bust.

If you would have told me on signing day 2014 that he would be here for 2 summer sessions and not even get a meaningful snap in a 2015 game after the starter has 5 TOs in a game that was completely out of hand I would have said you were full of crap.

Crest not starting over a SO who likely is the same age with no P5 scholarship offers tells me we either:

1) Miscalculated on his ability
or
2) Have not coached him up.

I could totally understand if he was up against an all B12 first teamer QB RS SR. He's up against Skyler Howard who is doing more than I imagined but not enough in a QB centered game in a pass-happy league.

IMO, Skyler starting says more about Crest not being where he should be for a second year player than Skyler being a great QB.

I agree that SH being our best option is telling (although I thank him for stepping up to represent our team).....but the issue is deeper than Crest.

The fact is Dana has missed on QB's. He struck out with rawlings and Childress lost 2 years in a row on the recruiting trail. That is why tricket and Howard came around. And Millard was not high d1 talent. Let's hope Saunders is the real deal.

God I hope that you are wrong, but I fear that you are right.

Maybe the man just needs some meaningful playing time. Remember Richrod and Pat White becoming starter?

I am a bit concerned as well...hoping he comes around and Howard improves as season progresses...I would still love to see Crest out there for a different look in a few sets which would give him meaningful game time rather than mop up duty...

Agreed. Our OL looked porous at best in pass protection. Crook needs to own his role in this as well.
