Donald Trump is so far over the bounds with his continued comments, it is actually embarrassing to those that despise him as a presidential candidate. It is shameful that some individuals that have a brain is actually supporting his behavior. Thank you. I don't think his comment was directed at anyone on this board. I generally agree with his sentiment. I'm seeing people on facebook, who I consider to be generally decent people, liking everything this guy (Trump) does. He (Trump) insults people for entertainment, not to make a point. I also agree with WVUBRU's main point that there is a huge difference between being politically correct and just showing people common decency, courtesy and respect.

So do you now consider those decent Facebook people "whackos"? At this point I don't consider myself a supporter of Trump, it's far to early in the process to make a choice. However, I have repeatedly responded to haters of Trump that he is striking a chord with a lot of people. I also have made predications on what would happen if a Trump/Clinton matchup would occur. Also, I have never called any supporter of any Democrat, Obama included, a "whacko". I admit I have used some unflattering terms when responding to some on this board, but it was never about who they supported.

I'm not sure, to be totally truthful. I have lost a lot of respect for them. Anyone that supports and likes someone who has insulted all Mexicans, all POWs, women, filed bankruptcy 4 times, divorced 3 times, etc. etc. either has some moral/character flaws or is a bad judge of character and integrity.

I'm not saying Hillary is the greatest person on earth, but I honestly believe she seriously consulted with her attorney and the security firm before setting up the private e-mail account and server. I believe she had no intention of breaking any laws (and it still hasn't been proven she did) or letting any information leak (which that hasn't been proven yet either).

So if you "buy" my premise above, who do you have more respect for?

Do you think Hillary would solve the greatest problem facing our nation today? I'm talking about the extreme divide that currently exists. I personally believe she would exacerbate it. To me, that alone is why I'm not for her specifically.

The only redeeming quality I could even remotely see with Trump is that he will no doubt shake things up. We could also see an end to PC run amuck. The latter is happening right now with him. The people supporting him or at least partly are doing so for that reason alone. Finally someone not being afraid to speak their mind and refusing to cower to the PC police. Those are the people that he is striking a chord with and make no mistake, there are a lot of those people. This has been building for almost 25 years.

I'm seeing it on Facebook as well, but surprisingly I'm seeing it all across the political spectrum. From my conservative friends, to moderate/libertarian friends to liberal friends. They don't necessarily like him, but they like that he's got the "Fuc# You, I'm saying what I want..." mentality.

I will admit to defending Islam. I will never support the radical religious zealots that are committing these atrocities. I defend Islam because I know some Muslims well, and I hate to see them lumped in with the terrorists. I've seen several comments against Muslims as a whole and honestly worry about the ones that I know here. One comment had a picture of a group of Muslims (NOT terrorists, NOT ISIS) and somebody said something like "a good opportunity for a few well placed bullets".

I should say that I don't defend Islam as much the attitude that if somebody is Muslim they are already a terrorist or will become a terrorist. As an atheist I find all religions to be a bit silly.

I would prefer that we not lower our bar because other countries are worse. We should examine countries that do things better than us and raise our bar to meet it or exceed it.

I don't care how they do things in Syria or Iran or any other theocracy. We are better than that, and our constitution allows for constant improvement. Not "well, we're better than _____, so good enough"
