West Virginia received some good news on Saturday, when Garden City (N.Y.) Nassau C.C. cornerback Rasul Douglas was cleared to practice by the NCAA. [details]

Just for sake of clarity, does that also mean he is eligible to play in the first game (assuming the quality of his practice is high enough)? Or is there still a chance he may have to redshirt due to grades/outside factors?

He was a juco guy so to be eligible he needed to graduate from juco. If he is eligible he geaduated and was admitted to wvu. The clearinghouse is not an issue. If he redshirts it will be because other guys were goid enough for us to save him.
