If Georgia Southern were playing Marshall in its opening game in Huntington? I'm guessing it would be close to a -1 game.

It would be nice if we had some kind of historical perspective to make an educated guess, but you guys haven't played anybody of that caliber for a few years now.
The question was prospective as to hypothetical line. All we have to go on is the current Purdue line which is MU -8......PU is a Big 10 team with 15 returning starters so you'd have to add at least 2 points to that line if the opening game was against GSU but all just a best guess!
Well, last year Purdue finished 99 and GSU finished 63 (per Sagarin) so it would make more sense for the line to go the other way.
If we're going by 2014 MU would have been a 21 point favorite over GSU in Huntington...but we're talking about 2015 where basically everything is an educated guess!
Totally disagree. CBSSports has GSU at #49 and Purdue at #86... How could you even consider your statement logical?
No way. #99 Purdue is terrible. There are multiple IAA teams that could easily handle #99 Purdue...

But they have OSU #1 and if they played their #10, #1 would be favored by Vegas. Just like #49 would be favored over #86... By how many? That's the bookie's job. But, no doubt GSU would be favored over PU.
Marshall is a TD favorite (at home) against the 86th (probably generous) ranked team in the country. You would be no significant favorite over the 49th ranked team, and an underdog at GSU.... How would I expect a Marshall fan to know schedule strength?
