I still think he's not going to get the nomination, and that he's in this more for self promotion than anything else.

But should he get the nomination, is there anything he can say or do to sway your vote? It would be damn near impossible for me, but I'm curious if his supporters are already set and that there is no positive movement for his candidacy from here on out.

Or could his populist bit win over new voters post primary.

In the primary? No. If he got the nomination, I would vote for him over Hillary.

No. Ted Cruz is the worst candidate among any running that the country could possibly have.
Are we limited to GOP in this discussion? Because, I truly believe Hillary is the worst thing possible for this country.

No, you are not limited. I shared my opinion and you shared yours. Neither is the absolute correct answer even though you have something in your brain like so many on here, whatever you type you are so shallow minded that it must be the absolute truth and no other perspective holds any merit whatsovever. It is a sad character trait.

Huh? Appreciate the personal attack. I'll remember to respond in kind in the future.

Especially ironic your position is with regard to my feelings and beliefs. After you just objected to someone's opinion telling them they were wrong and then giving your position. When I gave my opinion, I didn't tell you you were wrong. It would seem you are more guilty of your allegation towards me than I am.

I'm voting Democrat regardless, Would love to have somebody else besides Hillary though, she is way to polarizing to the right and would be like still having Obama. No matter who it is, for the GOP or the Democrats the issues are still gonna be the same. However if the Donald gets the nomination all bets are off !

I'm afraid I'll be stuck with a choice between Hillary and Trump.

I have no issue with disagreement which is what I did and what you did. I have no other reason for my post than disagreeing with the person I quoted. However, you tend to get your panties in a wad whenever someone disagrees with you and you start a diatribe like you did here and you do it EVERY SINGLE CONVERSATION YOU EVER GET IN. Yes, I called you out for it. End of story on my behalf.

I'm afraid I'll be stuck with a choice between Hillary and Trump.

If it comes down to that, a vote for Hillary would be a waste. As I commented long ago when Trump was considering a run, he will DESTROY Ms. Clinton in debates. So far all the folks here and in the media who have repeatedly tried to dismiss Trump have been wrong.

He won't destroy anyone in a debate if he won't show up.

Limbaugh claims Trump is going to "blow up" the Debate. Whatever that means. Ain't no way he doesn't show up for the first one.

Just give it more time. He will NOT be the GOP candidate (he will not win the primary). Don't get me wrong, I am thoroughly enjoying his "remarks" and I would love nothing more than for him to win the primary, but it won't happen.

Hopefully your thought about him not getting the nomination will come to fruition. His winning, IMO, will just lead to at least another 4 years of bad governance added to the past 14+ bad years.

Agree.
Unless he's just focused on the recent stuff with RPJ, but that's really something entirely different.

I believe I said "like so many others on here". I don't have him confused with anyone even though Cajuneer is another person with this trait. That individual is legendary for not backing down and attempting to spin everything in order to attempt to prove he is right and everyone else is wrong. One in particular I beat him over the head with for several years but to Cajuneer's credit, he finally found something that was sufficient to prove how wrong his opinion was to the fact and he came on here and fully admitted it. That instance indeed raised my respect for the individual but he still has the trait as he showed yesterday.

For those predicting the demise of Trump, you are making yourself look silly as he continues to climb. None of us really know what the future holds. Trump is a difference maker. Without him, it may be rather predictable and business as usual. We heard him called many names even before the gaff on McCain's legislative record.

If he had added "too" to his statement when he was talking to the pollster, Frank Luntz, about service personnel who are "heroes", he would eventually gotten the media to stop the digging. I would object to excluding those who served in WWII without being captured as "heroes". Step-father and all my Uncles all served when called and none were captured, but they sure in hell deserved the "hero" tag. McCain may have been perceived as exceptional while captured, but he was a "hero" before when he was just one of the boys getting shot at while dropping bombs. That does not add to his less than stellar performance as a legislator, IMO.

I know what you're saying. You weren't talking to me so I guess it doesn't concern me, but I really haven't seen that kind of attitude out of DvlDog other than maybe whatever personal thing he has with RPJ sometimes. There are A LOT on this board that are like that, no question, but there are also enough that are rational. There are many that have strong opinions on certain topics, but are open to hearing opinions and engaging in dialog on all other topics.

The most egregious I simply have on ignore because it really isn't worth the time to see anything they have to say.

the very fact that he continues to climb is hysterical. Speaks volumes about his supporters.

I'm willing to make a wager with anyone on here about Trump being the GOP nominee. Bornaneer and racist neil seem to be very confident in him winning.

There you go again, you ignorant bastard, lying about what I have said. I have never remotely suggested anything about any individual winning the GOP nomination.

Now, if you want a wager, I will bet you anything you desire regarding your assurance that Hillary will be the next President. We can look at Vegas odds makers for the odds in the wager.

By the Radio for Rush and in front of the TV for Fox and Friends is where I would look first.

Where have I EVER shown confidence in him winning? NEVER......I HAVE warned you and others not to underestimate his appeal. I am not a supporter and I think it will be Walker against Hillary. Of course I could be wrong. I will say that if somehow Trump would be the nominee, he would have a better chance to defeat Hillary than Walker as he would absolutely overwhelm her in all debates.

He took a pass on yesterday's event.

It was NOT a debate. If I were you I would pay closer attention to your candidates. I'm surprised at how much interest you have in the other parties candidates. You know whose yours will be. All you have to do is sit back and relax.

No but it was a chance for him to show up with many of the other Republican candidates. Maybe he'll show up for a debate, maybe he won't. He'll need more than a cute hat to get the nomination. I don't assume that Hillary will be the Dem candidate though she's discouraging others from entering the race. Others will enter the race but they're sure taking their time.

Trump is the Ross Perot of 2016, without Perot's intelligence. If he's the best the GOP could come up with, they may as well disband the party. As for the Democrats, it seems as though Hillary would have to be caught in bed with a pony before they'd honestly consider anyone else - the "I'm Ready for Hillary" stuff started showing up around here on January 22nd 2013. I can't believe there isn't somebody better in one of the parties that wouldn't be better than the current fool's parade.

Trump is trying to catch Cruz in the cray cray race.

"It seems a government shutdown over defunding Planned Parenthood is all but inevitable now. That is, unless Donald Trump flames out in the next few months. Because The Donald is not going to be left out of any ridiculous, extremist thing his competitors come up with.
Donald Trump said the Republican-led Congress should take the plunge, appearing Monday on conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt's show, where Trump was told the “only way to get rid of Planned Parenthood money” is to “shut the government down” when money expires on Sept. 30.

“Would you support that?” Hewitt asked.

“I can tell you this: I would,” Trump responded.

Trump went on to praise rival Ted Cruz, saying that the only reason the last attempts at government shutdown were so disastrous was because Republicans "decided not to stick together. And they left a few people out there, like Ted Cruz." Trump and Cruz have actually been working on sort of a mutual admiration society. Over the weekend, Cruz heaped praise on Trump for "speaking out boldly and brashly and for focusing on illegal immigration." That's after the two met last month, and Trump came out of the meeting singing his gratitude for Cruz's agreement on immigration.
Dare we hope? Does Jesus love us this much? Trump/Cruz 2016!"
