That stupid flag was the only thing keeping me from being a big fan of Stock Car Racing.

I have to admit I'm a little squeamish about NASCAR's open support of illegal immigration (or any other criminal endeavors.) I'm not sure their stance will reap any significant reward in that regard.

At the start of the race they start turning left. 3 hrs later they are still turning left. Drunken redneck hilljacks as far as the eye can see. Worst experience I've ever had as far as a "sporting" event is concerned. F1 and Indy/Cart is a different story though. Exact opposite experience.

Yes, totally different experience. I love any form of racing, but I can't take the fans who love those taxi cabs. It's going to be real interesting to see how the "necks" take this.

Stock Car racing was born in the South. Part of Southern heritage - if you will. It probably grew out of Saturday Night racing and dirt tracks. Some of the "Good ole boys" used their 'shine running' cars originally - Southern born.

It became so damn popular, that Northern rednecks joined in and the small tracks of the South gave way to super speedways all over the country. I no longer follow the sport. When they took the second race, "Southern 500", from the Darlington track, they went away from Southern heritage to profit of the big tracks located in the North and West, they killed my interest.
