I think that remains to be seen - let’s say he would have asked for an additional $600,000 instead of $1.6M. They may have done it. Someone, somewhere will do it and likely many have behind the curtains but the negotiation is handled before it becomes a crap show.

Not by holding out IMO. Coaches need to have some level of control over their players, they already have way too much unpredictability in their profession, they can’t have kids holding out right and left expecting more money.

(After all he was making 2.4 million, they weren’t screwing him in anyway) He probably could’ve gotten more. But college coaches won’t tolerate kids holding out, cutting your *** is the only piece of leverage they have left and they don’t want this pandora box opened.
