No. In most cases workmanship has gone astray. But production seems to be at higher degree of desire regardless of the quality. Im shocked by how much the common foot soldier in the construction world is getting paid. Many of the trades that once were considered a form of art have become a thing of the past. Brick laying has given way to stone veneer. Similar cost in labor, but half the talent needed. Trim carpentry.... same.
Home building cost are just insane. People want to blame material cost, but in reality, labor is almost as bad, if not worse in certain areas. And for what? A fraction of the workmanship? Sad!
