Buford and Hartzog have logged a lot of time at safety. Right now, those 2 plus Blye Hill and Ceyair Wright are DB Starters.
I see stats for a couple of blowouts he played in, and he may have taken reps in more.

Exactly. Anyone expecting us to hit the portal and steal big name starters from other teams is smoking something. We have decent NIL money but nothing that will allow us to simply raid everyone’s roster to steal their best.

Or they have been a lifelong fan, invested into the program monetarily and temporally and have watched a team with top 10 revenue and profits become one of the worst programs in college football over the last 10 years while administrators, fired coaches, ADs, players and other sycophants walk away with millions of dollars that they didn't earn. They are a person who used to love college football but because they love their huskers so much they have to cut out watching their favorite sport, since "their" and alma mater are an embarrassment and have been going on a decade and a half.
Probably safer to pencil him in as a depth price for now. He was on their depth chart, so he wasn’t like a Brice Turner or one of those guys we’ve never heard from, but probably more of a Bretz replacement at this point. I’d guess we aren’t done in the secondary yet.
Ceyair was kind of in the same situation as this kid. Just sayin we shouldn’t judge him just yet.

I think he’s a good get and a talented kid. But I don’t think they are penciling him in as a starter right now, he’ll have to pass some guys to earn that. I also think Wright came from USC with a lot more experience, the thing that slowed him down was getting to campus so late.

Kids from Bishop so you know he has a strong education in football. Def not someone I’m penciling in for significant playing time in 2025. Could be good beyond that. Outside of Hunter, I don’t see any guys who are coming in that are most likely starting next year. Nwaneri should get lots of reps and obviously was ranked high out of HS and I’m excited at the potential. But do you guys think we are winning the portal game? This is a legit question.
