Carter Nelson: does he stay a WR or will the process of moving him to TE start this season? I think if he becomes a TE this season his body needs to change quickly. Personally I'd like to see him stay at WR for a bit longer.

Kind of... our offense was so bad, mismanaged, this year that no other young guys distinguished themselves. I really thought Lloyd would have a bigger impact with Dylan. Also 25% of our completions were to running backs (I have no idea if this is high or low for a team that runs an 50/50 run/pass attack). FWIW 15% were to tight ends (counted Bonner as a WR).

I will be very interested to see who plays in the bowl game.

Is Lloyd a every down division one Big ten player?
Haven't seen anything that says he isn't. We really haven't given him an opportunity to show he can be more then a deep threat. Also haven't seen anything from him to indicate he doesn't have good hands.

This is where I'm at. There are offensive players who haven't been managed properly....cough**FIDONE,
Nate**cough....so its really hard to make judgments about them.

IMO they need to make a decision this offseason on what he is going to be. There’s nothing wrong with having a 6’5” receiver that can take it to the house.

I thought Rhule said he was moving to TE at his PC.

He did, but I don't believe it until it happens because he also said last spring and summer that we were going to use a lot of two TE, sometimes three TE packages in the 24 season and that rarely materialized. Count me as wait-and-see RE: Carter going to TE.

Who looked to be a player?
I thought you'd said Daevon Hall had good potential. Isaiah mcmorris? Coleman played as a freshman. I'd hope he'd be a lot better after redshirting but it sounds like he always has a lot of work to do.

Idk. Just sucks that we've missed so much at that position.

I am assuming that at least one of Clark, Keelan, or Bell can step up and play with Bonner/Lloyd/Jacory. Hopefully Bell recovers well from his injury.
Thrown in Mozee and Mills, and likely at least one decent portal WR and I think we are ok. Might even get two WRs from the portal but we shall see. Lots more guys will enter as their teams finish their seasons. Look for a bunch more by late December.

Not at all concerned with our WR depth. They know that to see the field and stay on the field, they must be able to block. I'm confident coach will dial up plays that create mismatches and open field for DR to spin it where it needs to be and on time. Excited about the potential of our offense with a competent OC.

Sorry, I figured you were talking about the generally unproductive Neyor and Banks.

I see him as more of an Ed McCaffrey type . He would be a handful for smaller backs to cover.

Other than Barney are we losing everyone who looked to be a player?
We won't be short of receivers by the time August rolls around. We have some guys who can play but at least one difference maker WR from the portal would be nice. There's only been one guy transfer out that surprises me.

Nelson, Clark, Smith, Bell, Barney, Lloyd. Hall surprised me when he left. McMorris and Hall were kind of a package deal though. When they committed I kind of doubted they were P5 level WRs but I've never seen them in person. Mills and Mozee will play right away and Terch probably could too. Need one experienced quality WR probably in the portal but there should be no reason that Shorts can't get a freshman WR ready to play.

If Bonner is in the top 3 I don't think we have enough talent.

Yeah, I listed him because he will be here and made a few plays for us. If he’s a starting WR for us we are in trouble.
He can catch and is not small but we need game breakers. Hoping to land another guy like Banks but with more speed.

You’d think between DR and Holgorsen and NIL$ we’d be an attractive place for a couple dope WRs

Thought we got one from Kentucky along with their receiver coach. This is an area we need to hit the portal hard if we’re going to give Rhule his third year success that he’s accustomed to
