This is the same coach who put QR codes on every player’s helmet so fans could donate to them directly during games after big plays (an excellent idea)

His wrist was slapped by the NCAA for this and they disallowed it (of course)

Not sure how much more all-in a guy could be than that

They're gonna try to fire him for cause because he offended their fans. Good luck with that. They owe him $25M otherwise.

This is hilarious but true. Reminds me of a story. My cousin in Cincinnati was marrying the son of the former Xavier and at the time the current AD at Seton hall . I was talking to him at the wedding reception. He had to fire his BB coach Louis Orr the previous March . The final 4 was in Minneapolis that year. He said he read 6 different reports on guys he was hiring for the job and multiple media said they saw Jeff In person talking to said candidates in Minneapolis at hotel. Nit only did Jeff not hire anyone being reported. He was never in Minneapolis, he was in his office at his home in NJ .

Probably a Sooner or 2 behind this misinformation. Even though they're in different conferences I'm sure big brother still likes doinking with the little one.

Hope not, I think Holgorsen would be a leading candidate.
Holgorsen went 4-8 in the Big 12 just last year. So he's not viewed at a top HC candidate at this time. Plus, with that said, he may not even want to go back to being a head coach if you listen to his interviews. And with OC's getting head coach money at a lot of places, I would think that a lot of guys would just as well settle for being a coordinator and not dealing with all of the B.S.

Seems like a pretty straight shooter and he said he hadn't really been a real coach in 13 years. Said a couple times that a HC has to handle so much non-football stuff that he is looking forward to just focusing on football for a change. Seemed pretty refreshed.

I think people are underestimating narrative. Dana Holgorsen came to Oklahoma State and had an absolutely dominant year. They blasted everybody with the #1 offense in the nation that year. So Ok. State have fond memories of him just from that, then to top it off, he coached in the Big 12 with several games against Oklahoma State and then the narrative and familiarity grows based on that as well.

I mean we've hired coaches based on narrative alone, where Bo Pelini's 2003 stint played a huge factor, and then Frost was largely based on narrative as well. Narrative is a huge factor when it comes to hiring ball coaches.

Pretty sure Frost was hired for his 12-0 record, not any sort of narrative. Of course, the fact that he was a former Husker great played a huge factor, but don’t kid yourself, the fact he went 12-0 sealed the deal. And let’s not forget, EVERYONE wanted Frost after that 12-0 season.

Frost hired on narrative?

He was the hot coach that cycle, and he was ours.

That narrative?

It looks like he agreed to a restructured contract and will be staying at Oklahoma State.
