Evening is projected 15 degrees F, light wind out of the south. Wind will not be a factor if this prediction holds.
I saw that too. Wind dies at sundown. Probably low 20’s for most of the game. With gloves and sideline heaters, weather should not limit the passing game very much. Maybe an extra drop or two.

I'm hard pressed to find even 1 win when we needed a game ending drive. 2019 Northwestern was already tied. Northwestern Hail Mary in 2014 & Iowa in 2014 I guess is 10 years.

I can think of a couple under Riley. Morgan had a late TD against Purdue and of course Reily's catch against MSU.

Can't really think of any since then .

No he's not. He is a condescending jerk, who talks **** on us nonstop.
he is a typical iowa fan.

@SWIowahawks remember two years ago when you called me a "troll" for telling you McNamara was Petras 2.0?

updated stats 2 seasons after that post:

Petras - 56.7%, 24 TD/19 INT, 6.3 Yards/Attempt
McNamera - 57.3%, 10 TD/8 INT, 5.8 Yards/Attempt

Examples? I say way more negative things about Iowa on these boards than Nebraska.
two posts above. mcnemara is petras. petras is mcnamera.

labeling someone a "troll" for posting "water is wet" is something condescending jerks do, ya condescending jerk!

also - every iowa fan is a Nebraska fan. you guys watch more of our games than any other fanbase. not even close.

Not gonna work, bud.
this exchange should be in a museum somewhere:

why does everyone think your new QB, who posted identical stats to your old QB last year on a much better team, will be good?

Petras 2022: 55.9%, 1:1 TD:INT ratio, 6.2 Air Yards/Attempt
McNamara 2022: 60%, 1:1 TD:INT ratio, 5.9 Air Yards/Attempt

please explain what I'm missing

You know the context you’re leaving out so I’m not even gonna rebuttal you on your hilarious attempt.

I have no idea why the Hawks are favored.

You defense has played well this year and that is when we have trouble running the ball. You have a great defensive line, and it will depend on if K Johnson gets any holes to run through. Now, I am not sure how good your linebackers are at tackling, but when he has a hole a lot of LB are bouncing off him. This is why he gets so many extra yards.

The Hawks have to be able to run the ball, to keep your offense off the field. Our defense plays better not being out there all day.

I am hoping for a good game but could be a long day for the Hawks if we cannot run the ball. Nice win against the Badgers and Creighton as well.

Hope for no injuries.
You don’t know why Iowa is favored at home?At night? They’ve been favored in every game except one this year.

Now, I do share your concern about the actual game. I stated above and the more I think about it, the more it worries me. But Nebraska’s big WR’s will have a hay day with 50/50 balls.

Not sure why Iowa fans are worried about our WR's, we haven't won many 50/50 balls all year, we certainly aren't going to be able to move up and down the field using them.

Those 50/50 balls get a lot of PIs, but since it’s Nebraska, I don’t expect any defensive PIs or offensive holding to be called against Iowa, it’s the bigten way.

Pass efficiency defense, Iowa is 41st and Wisconsin 49th. Generally teams just run it at Wisconsin, they are 91st in defending the run.

With that said, I would not be surprised, at all, if Nebraska has success throwing the football if Raiola does not turn the ball over. Good receivers, good QB and a good coordinator. Would not begin to try and bet this game. Should be a fun game to watch.
Passing Defense Wisconsin 13th, Iowa 39th. There's more than just passing efficiency as that is a sub section as to say of the overall Passing Defense and I was wrong, Wiscy wasn't 10th coming into this game, they were 8th in the Nation in Passing Defense and now are 13th.

Wisconsin Pass Defense before last Saturday which we absolutely shredded

Iowa Passing Defense currently before the game Friday

Wisconsin is now currently 13th in the nation in Pass Defense after their game with us

Honestly spreads do not mean crap. To me it's a coin flip game. Picking Iowa as the favor is probably the same as picking Alabama, Ole Miss, last week.
And I guess saying they have been favored in every game this year except one, tells me about spreads.

Yes, I know the Hawks have had some great success at night at home.

What I am saying, is Nebraska has a good defense line and if we cannot run the ball, that is not going to be good.

Nebraska has better skilled players, outside of RB, than Iowa does. Another question, what game does Raiola bring. He has been
inconsistent. Haarberg sometimes scares me because our D has had some trouble with running QBs.

So outside of being a night game in Kinnick, this game is going to be interesting. If I knew who was going to win and beat the spread, I would bet the farm on it.

Imagine if Ferentz got a real oc like DH the last few years. Elite special teams & defense and an above average offense. Feels like that was probably Ferentz only window to win a natty.

I guess I don't see it, but I know I've never seen 1 **** talk post from him on this board.

He's not condescending just because he roots for an annoying team.

Not sure either team has any extra motivation in this game although the Iowa program will always have that chip on their shoulder that the Nebraska program still gets more positive press from the national media than does Iowa. In nearly every broadcast since forever there has been a mention by an unbiased
Commentator that college football is better when Nebraska is great, you never hear the same about Iowa.

This is, however, an extremely important game to Iowa fans. There is rarely a thread on the Iowa free board that doesn’t contain at least one mention of Nebraska. The difference in the two fan bases could not be more different in regards to this game. After the loss to Nebraska in 2022 there were grown *** Iowa fans trying to wrestle the trophy away from husker players. Iowa fans simply are not capable of a rational discussion in terms of husker football.
Before the season the vast majority of Iowa fans were posting or saying that Iowa football would be a CFP team this season and then in the same breath or post saying Nebraska fans were delusional to think Nebraska could get to 6-8 wins.

Iowa sucks, but even more so, Iowa fans SUCK.

@SWIowahawks
@hexumhawk

All iowa fans are sub 100 IQ low functioning retarts that eat their own ****, and I can prove this scientifically. So… all iowa fans know that they have never won anything of substance and never will. History has made this abundantly clear, even a **** eating retart can come to this obvious conclusion at some point in their meaningless life. Thus compelling all/most young iowa fans of normal intelligence to choose another team, between the ages of 10-17, inorder to maintain a modicum of hope for future success. The fans that remain, the ones who continue to be fans iowa despite the irrevocable reality they will never accomplish jack diddly ****, are obviously of extremely low IQ and unable to make rational decisions.

In short, the fact that real iowa fans exist beyond the age of 15 is unequivocal proof that that they are some of stupidest people to ever walk on this planet. Think about it… You know it’s true…

They have a real OC this year but oddly enough, the defense let them down at MSU and at UCLA this year. In game injuries sure hurt against UCLA but the Bruins were shredding them even before the injuries.

Finishing 7-5 or even 8-4 this year is a huge let down to any Hawk fan.

Not necessarily. It’s been a decade since Iowa has won fewer than 8 games. 5 times they have won more than 8 and 4 times they have won 7 or 8 in that time frame. They won 10 last year with almost the entire defense returning. If you would have told anyone in college football that Iowa would return everyone on defense AND more than double its PPG total from last year; no one would have believed they could possibly end up only winning 7 games in the regular season. But, here we are.

Definitely coincides with Iowa avoiding OSU and Michigan on your schedule like Lois Feldman avoids public bathrooms. Speaking of, who did Iowa have to blow all those years to get those schedules?

Everyone outside the state of Iowa knew this is how Iowa’s season would turn out. Iowa fans are idiots to think otherwise. It has been mediocre season, rinse, repeat with your **** program since 1961. The only fans in college football that think Iowa is anything more than a middling, crap team are iowa fans.
