our program - which currently holds the longest non-bowl streak in P4 and just hired a guy off the street to be a full-time coordinator and play caller - is in "limbo"?

brother, I'd hate to see what it would need to look like for you to consider it unsuccessful.
and if they'd have hired Coach Cig you'd have had an even worse come apart... take a deep breath dude, Dana is well known and not some random bum... dude has had nice offenses and has put many QB's in the NFL. I'm sorry almost 2 years have been lost, however, if he had been here from the start, imagine what the offense could look like.... past is the past, the future is now... time to support the team

QB room under Rhule:

Year 1 - we don't have a QB coach but our OC can do it
Year 2 offseason - we hired a QB coach/Co-OC to help our OC
Year 2 after 9 games - just kidding here is another OC

I have no clue how anyone defends this or convinces themselves that little Matty has any sort of plan/vision for OUR program
Rhule is a defensive coach. He apparently tried to hire Dana last winter. He recognized Satt’s weakness and tried to bring in a better play caller. Thomas hasn’t been much help so 9 games in he made a very difficult decision to demote his long time friend and bring in Holgerson. Big time decision that proves he’s willing to do what it takes. People have bitched about buddy hires. Well they need to shut the F up now. Hopefully this works.

No hard decisions were made if the guy is still on staff and getting paid.

I think there is outside pressure being applied big time.. there is no way 'Little Matty' does this desperation hail mary if the AD or 'someone' wasn't breathing down his back.

and now that 'they' know they can make him jump like a little school girl, oh you better believe they will continue to push that button.
my take is that recognized the problem last fall and tried to bring in Holgerson with the same title that Thomas ended up with. I believe Satt’s departure has been in the works for weeks if not months. Rhule is very aware of the fanbase’s sentiment and thank God he was willing to make changes. He has ripped the bandaid off BEFORE the season was over. Good on him.

He’s gonna get paid whether he’s on staff or not. He can help Holgerson in the transition. I can see no negatives to keeping him on for 3 more games and I’ve been calling for his departure for most of the season.

You really think so? I thought Dana wants to be a HC again and wanted to prove himself somewhere? would need more than 3 games to do that... I honestly don't know his future but hopefully this is long term and he allows him to make the appropriate changes to be successful...
I think he proved at Houston that he shouldn't be a HC again.

TE is probably the position that will suffer the most. Fidone will be lining up split off the LOS more
All for it if it gets him down the field where he can use his massive catch radius. I can't think of a worse way to use a guy like Fidone then to have him catch a pass at or behind the line of scrimmage and expect him to make people miss. It is pure insanity.

Who knows. Chip Kelly and Jeff Hafley both left HC jobs for coordinator positions. Some guys might be happy to make millions calling plays.
Chip Kelly is 60 years old. He was HC at ORE for 4 years, 6 years at UCLA, and 4 years in the NFL.

He loves being the OC and doesn't miss being HC. He said at that level in college you do all your duties and then on your free time all you do is go around asking for more money.

He's making $ 2M a year as the OC at OSU. I think he's got it pretty nice and I bet he does too, it can't be that hard to live on 40K a week.

Aside from Urban Meyer who would have never came here no matter how much you cried and sucked his dick, who should we have hired? You have all the answers so who would AD King Kong bring in to resurrect Nebraska?

I opened a new branch for my company. I hired my management staff and it was really good except for the office manager. I realized quick he wasn’t as strong as I had hoped. I tried to guide and direct and connect him with other successful office managers in hopes that he would learn, adjust and elevate. But eventually after seeing no progress and how it affected his direct reports and how that affected the entire branch, I had to let him go. The new office manager has been great and her team is developing. We are a year and a half into this branch and I’m in first place out of 56 branches to win presidents club with just 2 months left.

Glad to see Rhule make the adjustment. I’m hopeful. We will see.

he's definitely controlled by his emotions.
Gotta be able to laugh things off to stay sane
why do you think I come here?

I usually already chuckling before I get to your posts, which are downright knee slappers

"he's controlled by his emotions!" "he's unstable!" "he's not right in the head!"

taken straight from the playbook of a certain demographic.

the irony. so good.

From the press conference it sounds like Satt was told he wasn't returning next year, and Rhyle gave him the option to stay on for the season or leave now.

What do you mean? Fidone got them silky soft juke moves….like the tin man low on lubricant!

I know it man, he's got the brace on his knee and he's a big dude to begin with. Looks about as nimble as Biden on a bicycle. It's not like he has straight line speed either. Why you'd ever have him catch anything behind the line I can't explain. Really goes to not playing to your strengths.
