If he had onePJ would row that boat right over us and he’d drag his sack across our face for good measure.

I enjoy watching Minnesota play, win or lose. A commitment to play hard and with passion. Something I’ve seen with Nebraska only a few times the last 8 years.I thought this was going to say “Minnesota.” Because I’m afraid, bigger picture, we’ve officially become Minnesota![]()
Where have you been the past 25 years? Okay the past 8 to 10 years. Mid 3* U recruits is our nickname on 247 and RivalsI can't remember what talking head I was listening to, either Gottleib or Cowherd. They were talking to some college football expert about the CFP rankings. The expert thought Colorado was overrated at #20. His reasoning was because one of their losses was to a bad NEBRASKA. That is not a good look for our team. It hurts when I hear the Huskers discussed in this context.
The Frost era had lots of low points and one of them was when Minny came in with 1/2 of a team and pummeled us. We were so soft should have let Frost go after that game.In terms of football metaphors, he certainly does. He's 6-1 against Nebraska. He's drug his sack all over this program.
We are PJ’s little b!tch. And Kirk’s. And the long string of coaches that have been at Wisconsin. And Bret Bielema. I’m getting tired of typing pretty much everyone that’s coached in the Big Ten. We are their little b!tch. If he had one
everyone's Homecoming cupcake.

This is very true.. outside of the bubble, we are an old has-been in most people's eyes. I don't think people are trying to be disrespectful about it, they all would like to see us be great again, but it's been a very very long time now. And we have some company in that room too, so it is not unique to just us.A lot of the posters on here live within the friendly confines of the Nebraka bubble and they have no clue what the public perception is outside of it. Unfortunately, what you posted is the vast majority's take on us

All it takes is the right head coach. You have to get the right guy, and then not try to make him into Tom either. And that probably won't happen, until Tom is no longer with us, and that is just out of respect for what he achieved. It's not really that complicated, we just have to wait, and then be fearless about hiring the right guy, flaws and all.
I sort of see it as the natural balance of things. We kicked so many people's asses, for so many years.. when this has run it's course, we will be able to rise again, but not until then.I've said it many many times...TO is the best and worst thing that's ever happened to this program. Lots of people will never accept that
I read yesterday that Indiana had a receiver that was almost all-conf last season and was expected to be a starter this year. In spring practice Cignetti called out his lack of performance. That receiver lost his starting job to new players and after a couple games this year he went into the portal. This is very true.. outside of the bubble, we are an old has-been in most people's eyes. Bottom line is you really have to have very high standards if you want a great team. There are returning starters on this team that probably should have been benched or replaced via the portal. Either get the younger guys with more upside or find the best guys in the portal that meet that standard. I would think a coach with NFL experience knows the talent requirements.
You can't expect better results from guys that are already probably maxed out for their ability and willingness to improve.
here's another thing we've become, apparently

There are serious football programs and there’s programs like oursSad but true. UF getting stomped by Texas right now. Florida AD was like… “Well, I suppose we should tell them we’re keeping Sling Blade before we play UT, right?” As everyone in the room nods along in unanimous agreement.

Pretty big chasm in between
I’m sure he’s older than 13We hired a 13 year old to coach our WRs. I’m gonna die laughing when his dad takes him off our hands and hires him as an analyst.Joe looking at Skippy like… “Hell no you ain’t coaching my WRs, you think I’m crazy?”
