Nothing has changed. Rhule is no better than Frost/Riley. Obviously we can’t fire him now so looks like another 4 year coaching stint with losing seasons.

If the university and boosters truly want him gone they’ll find a way. Remember when everyone said Frost couldn’t be fired before October the 1st? All it took was one disgruntled sugar daddy to call up Trev to get him out of there.

What did that cost, a few million bucks? They'll be on the hook for well north of 50 million for Rhule and staff.

Even if Rhule fires his whole offensive staff I don’t trust his ability to hire new coaches. And what good coaches want to leave to work with someone on the hot seat?

The thing that’s frustrating to me is the reluctance of our head coaches, going back to Callahan, is firing assistants that aren’t working. Not only does Satterfield need the boot, but I’m not so sure White doesn’t either. But really, what assistant is living up to their salary?

Excellent point. This is why hiring the right assistants is so crucial. Great coaches hire the best assistants they can find, all the others hire their friends. We got the latter.

Nebraska’s football program alone generates 120 million in revenue. 50 million is nothing to sneeze at, but to say it’s impossible, it’s a little naive. That fiscally conservative mindset has gotten this program nowhere in the 21st century.

Frost can at least print Greatest 3-9 Team of All Time t-shirts. Rhule will be able to print 0 ‘fer 10 in Games to Make a Crappy Bowl Game tees in a month’s time.

I don't understand it either. One thing I learned in my career is never hire your buddies. Interview people you can be objective about

I'd rather, 1) See what happens with the remainder of this season and 2) give a guy more than 2 years to turn things around. Regardless of how ugly the first 2 years are.

We've been one of the top programs in terms of paying off canned coaches. They signed Rhule to a gonzo contract. I guess if they've got the money to buy him and his assistants out, hire a new staff, pay NIL for recruiting and the roster payroll every P4 team will soon be paying, more power to them.

What have you seen that would justify that? We are terrible.

They should be able to fire them " with cause ". I mean, isn't incompetence a terminable offense that would fall under the " with cause" banner. And there seems to be a lot of incompetence going on there.

The athletic directors (and whoever hired them) over the last 20 years should be sued for malfeasance.

Matt Rhule is a professional grifter.

He is telling people what they want to hear all while taking millions of dollars into his bank account.

When is the grift up? When he stops telling you what you want to hear, and we are almost at this stage now.

Come on now, Riley was a little bit better of a coach.
Riley got us to two bowl games, something that’s apparently impossible to duplicate now at a program with the 9th most wins in the history of college football. Hell. if Eichorst hadn’t forced Riley to get rid of Banker, he probably wins 6 or 7 games in 2017 and who knows—maybe he stays and wins 7 or 8 games a year until retirement and we’re not in the mess we’re in right now.

If he wasn't telling people what they want to hear and still making millions while putting up this same performance, does that change anything?

The idea of people being irked because Rhule is very well spoken is funny to me. If you're gonna suck, at least be charming instead of being a wet noodle like Frost.

I don't need to see anything to justify the idea that someone should get more than 2 seasons to try and flip things around.
We are regressing and a terrible team that just got beat at home by a 2-5 team. **** man.

Jmo I think Rhule like frost they made the assumption we have talent and tried winning with the players we have, here’s a flash we don’t I would actually feel better if Rhule would have called a bunch of players last year and we only win one or two games, right now we are stuck in Groundhog Day

He will get his 3rd year. But he is not serious about winning here. He will be paid astronomically well either way.
I have a hard time believing that when people get to a higher level of success that they're not serious about it.

I imagine the "rumors" about Rhule should be starting soon. Sadly, a lot of NU fans already have him on such a pedestal that the rumors will be lame at first.

My guess is, the first rumor will be something like...

1. "I heard that Rhule told Dylan that maybe it would be a good idea to transfer"
or
2. "So, I heard that Rhule is putting his name out there for other jobs"

Franklin apparently has some health issues and will need to step aside. Rhule’s dream job is all his if he wants it!

The people making the decisions for the past 20 years are bigger grifters
