I want HCMR to have the guts to make the needed changes. Starting with Sat, Foley, and McGuire sent packing.

What’s the point? He’s not going anywhere and it’s foolish to cycle through head coaches. I’ve somewhat defended Satt in the past but his game plans and play calling with a freshman QB is questionable at best.
Satt has shown enough to me , he sucks. Till we get a run first and built around run first coordinator I don't want him near our campus. We do less with more than any team I can think of.

Tear the bandaid off and move on. I’ve seen enough. He’s not gonna do anything here.

In a perfect world he’d have been let go the minute he offered the OC job to his soon-to-be-unemployed (from SC) buddy Satt. That move alone told me all I ever needed to know about him. He’ll never be a championship caliber coach if he remains more interested in hiring his friends than going after the best possible assistants he can find.

I know one thing as of today, Rhule is known as a builder and said he didn't know how to turn things around quickly. I totally agree with that statement.

He will be here 3 more years at least with that dumbass contract we gave him
We literally don’t do one fvcking thing well

At least that saves me money because I am stopping donations to 1890 and will never give again until we win the B1G

Which will be never… as long as Rhule is here

This. I want to see him back, but there needs to be MASSIVE changes to the staff. Don’t go full Billy C and refuse to let your buddies go.

Found reasons to like the hire. I could be pissdd we moved on too quickly (we wont). Oregon i could do back flips of joy. Depending on who is hired.
Sadly I don't know who would be that hire any better than Boll Moos, Trevor Alberts, or Tdoy Dannen. So I just cheer and hope that days like Saturday don't happen.

I honestly think he will do “okay” here. That means, get us back to going to bowl games with 7-9 wins a season. Don’t see any championships, but better than the train wreck we have been.

Problem is - the University of Nebraska has demonstrated they have no ability or idea how to hire a winning football coach, so you would just get your hopes built up once again to be shattered.

The hire and fire program since Osborne retired has worked so well.

Sure, why not fire the guy in year 2. Surely the next guy is the guy.

We need a serious influx of talent evaluators. Indiana has like 40 new dudes from James Madison and other nowhere schools and whipped our asses. Obviously there are dudes out there in the portal.

Here we go again. Same ******** 23 years later.

Here we go again. "If he fires so and so coach..." The dude is a ****** coach. Always was and always will be. Let me make this clear. We hired a .500 coach ( 3.98 if you look at the pro ****). And people expect more? What the hell do you think he will be? A builder of what? You know how this is going to play out. So why make excuses? Because he talks in a motivational way? Comical uneducated homers. Have at it and enjoy the fun.

Yes. fire the idiot in year 2. It is going to happen in year 4, so what the hell is the difference?

Matt is more concerned about his "coaching tree" than he is committed to winning. Retention of any of those 3, Foley, Satt, or Mcguire will prove it.

Why would any of those three willingly go anywhere else when they are getting paid more money here than they could ever demand in the open market?

Contractually he isn’t going anywhere for a long long time

Satt can go but I don’t know how you keep Donovan Raiola employed except to keep the Raiola clan appeased. The offensive line is horrible and has been for some time. The recruits don’t develop

Our best 2 offensive lineman are transfers from other programs.

We are forfeiting an entire position group simply because of the last name of the OLine coach

Redshirt freshman qb against 6th year senior match ups don’t go well sometimes. What is disappointing is that DR doesn’t seem to be adjusting to the adjustments other teams are making to him. That falls on the oc and qb coach, or DR himself.

This much is clear to me. Satt is not a difference maker OC. At best, he's in that middle tier. But keep in mind that Satt has a co-coordinator in Glenn Thomas who is also the QB coach. If you replace one, you replace them both. And then, you better be damn sure that you are replacing those two with a much better OC who is a great fit to work with Dylan Raiola. Otherwise, just making a bunch of changes for the sake of change is going to just set bet DR's development for no good reason or good results.

There are a few up & coming OC's out there who are producing good results. But (sigh) they wouldn't be that "wow hire" that certain big boosters want....

We are the same, disappointing team we’ve been for 10 years. We just lost by 49 pts in a conf game after a bye. There’s no spinning it. This bozo consistently gets out classed by better coaches. You have all the facts in front of you. FFS, northwestern played IU better than us. It was not competitive at all, at any phase, on any play. 1.5 years in and still trash.

It won’t get better until you get someone who thinks Nebraska is the best job ever. We haven’t had that since solich. Frost could have been but he was just a drinking, paycheck chaser

All due respect To all, but isn’t all this just a bit premature after one bad loss? Pelini Had one of these every year, still won at a reasonable clip. It’s awfully concerning that we may be spending 10 million a year for Pelini level competence, but I don’t think we can be sure we have incompetence yet in MR.

This is the only metric he will be fired upon. Make a bowl and he will be safe, miss another and he will be gone.

You really think that? You think he gets fired after year 2 just for missing another bowl? That would be a bad look for us. Who would want this job if we did that? People already think we're a has been joke of a program. If we miss a bowl and fire MR, we'd need to have an Urban/Saban/Smart level hire already in the bag, which ain't happening. We're stuck with what we've got for a while, regardless of record.

It’s really hard for me to see Matt Rhule being the guy to turn our program around after yesterday.

I’ve seen some really embarrassing losses by our program but yesterday takes the cake. If yesterday was against a team with a $25M NIL roster then I could kind of understand yesterday, but it wasn’t. I’m not convinced Indiana is a juggernaut, they have played nobody, including Nebraska

We are regressing again. We look stupid against any good coach. We are stuck with him but I’m all but done with him. Do you think Rhule ultimately wants to be here, in Nebraska?

I'll say it again, South Carolina Gamecock fans despised Satterfield when he was recently the OC for the Gamecocks.

if everybody took your approach it would be self defeating. I get your frustration. I’m not following your logic.

Why can Indiana get so much better but Nebraska can't. Some of you think that is ok. It's not.

I'll say it again, South Carolina Gamecock fans despised Satterfield when he was recently the OC for the Gamecocks.
And many if not most Husker fans despised Tim Beck when he was here…..and Shawn Watson….and Barney Cotton.. Who am I leaving out? Who was Riley’s OC?

Andy Reid got run out of Philly and he was the head coach/OC. He gets Mahommes and he’s a brilliant OC all over again. I’ve not liked Satt’s plans or play calling but we’re playing a rookie QB and I predicted he was going to struggle this year. Satt HAS to commit to the run even if it’s a 3 yard per carry deal. Gotta put Dylan in more favorable 2nd and 3rd down situations.

FWIW our defense’s ineptitude has applied extreme pressure on Dylan by forcing us to try to do too much on every series. TW needs to get his sh## together too.
