This. Broke my leg bad. A year later I thought I would always have pain and a slight limp. Now I don't even think about it. I keep saying the same thing about Fidone. If he stays healthy he will gradually get more comfortable and natural.
I'm sure this is an NIL deal so no real risk. The good thing is he hasn't re-injured it.
Hopefully itās a NIL walk on deal. Heāll get a shot to play and make a little cash above the cost of attendance. Weāre probably his best option for several reasons including the QB heāll be catching passes from. While Iām not doing cartwheels over getting him I DO think he can be a valuable asset.
The upside for me with Neyor is that I think heās a big strong guy who can get off press coverage and make those quick out catches for 5ā10 yards. Wyoming did that alot with him.
Lloyd - straight up burner.
Coleman - deep and middle of the field
Doss - slot
Neyor - big target at the line to gain
Bullock - will see fewer snaps
I tore my ACL at 18. Now, 44 years later, I'm still waiting to feel like I did at 18. This is the year. I feel it.
I'm not as worried about the WR room as most. 5 more freshman coming in and 3 early-enrollees. Smith looks pretty physically developed and Hall looks decent sized too. I'm sure Barney has been playing against D-1 recruits his whole life in Miami.
Wish that Colorado and Northern Iowa games were flipped.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think any of our wideouts were early enrollees last year?
Bottom line is this guy looks like an alpha when healthy and with NIL there is basically zero risk.

Not really. The ACL was in August 2022. It's pretty common for that first year back to be a doozy. It didn't help to be behind two top 50 picks and a former 5 star slot WR with a Senior Bowl invite. It's a gamble but one with a favorable risk reward profile IMO.
We have plenty of deep speed between Coleman and Lloyd. Banks and Neyor add experienced big bodies. Seems like a prudent approach to filling out the room.
Callahan was incredulous when he asked his WR coach who we had for WRs who looked like they could play and he immediately stated that white walk on kid Peterson.
Don't forget the other white guy on schollie either
It can easily take over a year to fully recover from surgery. But athletes do recover from surgery. I'm assuming that our "professional" staff has determined that this guy is ready to go. Only time will tell if he can cut on that knee during a game.
100% this. Even fully cleared and recovered it takes a while to feel comfortable.
Emphasis on catch radius. Exactly what they did. Went out and got guys who will fight for 50/50 balls. Dylan will take chances with small windows and we need guys who will make tough catches.
With all due respect, I believe ACL reconstruction has progressed just a tad since the 70sā¦ā¦
I watched Neyorās off season training video. It was unbelievable. He looks more than ready.
Fidone hasn't come back like anybody thought he'd be and Neyor didn't produce last year because of his injury . So on brand with some of you, dismissing all realities. It's a legit concern sunshine.so on brandā¦

I think Fidone did pretty good considering our qb play and the fact he came back from 2 major surgeries. His bio says most td's by a Husker TE since 2010.
