After over 800 yds and 12 TDs at Wyoming in 2021. Injured 2022.
and this was from On3 about 2023:

It’s been a slow start to 2023 for Texaswideout Isaiah Neyor, coming off a torn ACL prior to the 2022 season. But Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisianstill sees plenty of good from Neyor in practice, and expects to see more happen on the field soon.

In Texas’ 3-0 start, Neyor has just one catch for 14 yards, coming in the opener against Rice. With Big 12 play ramping up this weekend, Sarkisian would certainly like to see a big game from Neyor.

“I think Isaiah, first of all, I think physically he’s great, but it’s like anything. When you have an injury like that, there’s a mental component to it, too. And I see some really good days, I see some days when it doesn’t feel as good. And I think the challenge for him is finding that level of consistency day in and day out of what he brings and understanding of what we’re doing and having the intent — which he does,” Sarkisian said.

Guess you can never have enough Isaiah’s in the WR room who are coming back from devastating knee injuries. Hope it works out.

I don't understand this one. I want to be excited, but something just doesn't smell right. Season ending injury pre-season 2022. Played in 1 game against Rice in 2023 and had one catch. Then never saw the field again. I know Texas had a great WR room, but to not even play him? Did he lose a step after his injury? Maybe he just fell through the cracks at Texas, which doesn't seem likely. Hoping it's taken 2 years to fully rehab that injury and now he's ready to go, which again just doesn't seem likely. Apparently Rhule sees something nobody at Texas saw. If not, we're really more desperate for talent than I thought. But, gotta trust Rhule I guess.

I am like you on this one. Something doesn’t seem right here. But I too will trust Rhule and staff on this. The kid obviously had talent at one time. And no way Rhule takes him in without watching him workout first. This could be a bust but it could also be huge!

A kid with a busted knee gets buried in an uber talented WR room. I doubt Sark added a scrub at that position given how focused he is on the passing game.

He clearly wasn't a scrub when Sark added him. But to then virtually disappear for 2 years after the busted knee is what seems concerning. Just find it hard to believe that Sark, given his focus on the passing game as you mentioned, would just overlook the kid if he had much talent. But again, IRIT

Wouldn’t get too high or low on this pick up. He could be a nice depth piece or transfer out after spring ball. Veteran WRs are still valuable regardless with the young QBs coming in.

Wait...so this guy came from UT or Wyoming?

And...he has not played in over a year?

Looking at the stats, Sark’s top three WRs caught 95% of the passes thrown to wideouts. Only 10 balls were caught by other WRs on the roster. The top two RBs caught 49 balls.

Me too. This guy is a reach. He had a full year to recover from a knee injury and was not the same player he was before the injury. Maybe I'm a bit jaded after so many transfer disappointments at WR- Kemps, Fleeks, Washington, Garcia-Castanada, Oliver Martin, Omar Manning and such and such. A couple guys Toure and Palmer hit it big, but they came in highly regarded without past injury issues, etc. But we all have to remember that in this era, the lines between walk-on invitee and highly coveted scholarship recruit are blurred. If he can get back to 100% of what he used to be, he'll be a very good deep threat for Raiola. If not, then he just took some NIL dollars that could have been spent elsewhere.

Was most recently at UT. Started at WY. I think he looks like a big physical WR with good hands and average speed. He doesn’t look very fast in his WY video before the knee injury at UT. My guess is he was processed at UT. He might be a good tool as a possession receiver who can body up DBs. Long arms. We really don’t have a guy like him IMO. Kind of a meh pickup for me but we’ll see. Really wanted the other WR.

I actually think he’s more of a guy who can win 50/50 balls than a straight deep threat. He doesn’t look very fast but seems to have long arms and good hands. I see him catching those 5-10 yard quick outs for first downs. Physical guy who can get off of DB pressure at the LOS.

Callahan was incredulous when he asked his WR coach who we had for WRs who looked like they could play and he immediately stated that white walk on kid Peterson. 🤣

Yeah, that's a good point. In looking at the stats, it was those 3 guys then 3 other guys made up the other 10 catches...one with 8, and two with 1 each.

Stats aside though, this kid never even got in a game after week 1. Texas had some blowouts, you'd think he'd have at least gotten in for mop up duty a little. Their #4 received who had the 8 catches did. The other one (apparently their #5 did). Seems Neyor was their 6th string.

Some people take longer to recover from surgeries than others (duh) and that can be even more true for a knee issue for a WR (double duh).

After being smacked by a car and 4 surgeries to repair a hip, my 4th took 1.5 yrs to recover when normal time should have been 6mos. I was still on crutches at 6mos. Thought surgery had failed....year later I was 1000%.

I suspect this kid is in similar boat and I predict he'll prove to be a very good addition. His highlights pre injury are there. He is a proven commidity.

Hoping this is the reason for his lack of playing time and not that he’s not even near the same player he was in Wyoming.

He's not going to out run anybody. I'm just going by his average of 20+ yards per catch back a few years ago when he was playing. We'll see how he looks in the spring. I'm high on what Lloyd accomplished as a true freshmen. They have to get that guy ready this spring to start next fall. I'm also higher on Coleman, who's bigger and faster than Neyor.

Neyor played eight snaps for the entire season in 2023.

Coleman is taller but not bigger. This kid I think looked more physical at WY than Coleman did last fall. IMO he gives us a physical experienced guy who looks to have a large catch radius and good hands. That’s a nice safety net for a freshman QB.
