Texas wasn’t the school that jumped ship and started this entire realignment scramble
You're an idiot. Texass and OU were flirting with the Pac 10. That and the Longhorn network is what started the smart schools leaving. Texass destroyed the SWC, Big 8 and Big 12. Pure greed and arrogance.

But they were the smart ones for getting away from cancerous texas. Now the SEC will have to deal with the meddling officials than run that school. texas is not bigger than any conference even though they think they are.

Culturally, I think TTech and aTm fit in well with the Big Eight schools. The megalomaniacs in Austin...not so much.

But aren't they just like Our Lady University, I mean Norte Dame?

Fine right where we are at. Winning has been the issue. We would’ve stunk in the B12 too. That is about to change.

Truth!!! We weren’t very good in the B12. Texas beat us nearly every time we lined up against them. OU was pretty much the same. In the last 7 years, most of the conference would have marked Nebraska as an automatic win for the season.

That and Missouri was openly lobbying for a Big Ten invite before Nebraska got one.
Yep-and Texas:
1.Failing to share their media rights with the B12
2. Failing to commit to staying in the big 12 if a second team other than Colorado left – the Texas president was asked this point blank by Perlman IIRC

Ironically, If Chip Kelly had his way, the Old Big 8 could very likely be one of the divisions set up for college football.
It could happen. One silver lining to two mega conferences is divisions.

Would love to play OU, CU, MU, IA state, KState, and Kansas again every single year.

The old Big 12 was the greatest assembly of Football and Basketball strength in college sports. They completely blew it.
