I hate the AZ Wildcats more, so am rooting for OU. The AZ fans were horrible when we played them in the Holiday Bowl. Not sure this brand of basketball on grass appeals to me. And BTW, is that Stoops kid a spittin image of his old man or what?

I noticed it from the start that Arizona looks like a well coached team. They play fast too which always helps. Noticed the same thing from Kansas State.

Going back to the 70's & 80's OU was the team I loved to hate. They ruined SO many seasons for us back in those days.

But I've continued to follow them more than most other teams. It's always of interest to me how they're doing. And even in the 90's, when they were a cluster f, I thought they still looked fast & huge in their unis.

Not the ones I’ve talked to, always say “Need Nebraska to be good again.”
They backed Texas when we needed them to stand up. When UT pushed to dismantled prop 48 they hid. When UT wanted the longhorn network and not a Big 12 network, and we stood up OU hid like a little *****. And I’m guessing when Arkansas fled the SWC and Texas was scared, it was probably OU that got everyone on board for the Big 12. Screw OU. they will always be UT’s little *****. I can’t even respect them

You do realize that your own administration voted in favor of individual tier 3 rights don't you? Shocked how many don't know this.
Hate us if you will but at least get your facts right. I'm not saying we didn't play a big role in the death of the big 12....we did.our administration were arrogant ******** especially dodds. We also tried to break up the Big 12 with the pac12 move so I totally understand why Nebraska left but at least get your facts straight.

Are Nebraska's facts straight when referee, Walt Anderson, a UT grad, interfered in the replay booth and gave his team an extra second in the 2009 Championship game at ATT stadium? Was it truly an egregious error? Look out SEC, you don't know what you've done adopting an illegitimate child who demands they have it their way...

When Nebraska was given one second back on the clock to try to kick a game winning field gold in a bowl game was it also corrupt? Holiday bowl against USC look it up since you clearly don't remember it.
I noticed you didn't refute anything I posted.
Dodd's was an ******* and we should have canned the longhorn Network for a big 12 network for the good of the conference. I don't dispute that. I wish we would have. I hated dodds because he did not play well with others and it destroyed what I thought was a great conference. I only ask that we get our facts straight.

I love when people come on here with "facts". LOL When was Nebraska given an extra second in the Holiday Bowl against USC? The game ended when Armstrong threw an incomplete pass from the Nebraska 44.

Perhaps you are thinking about the 1994 Orange Bowl against Florida St when Nebraska was given the chance to kick a FG.

So get your facts straight.

Fair enough but you didn't answer my question at least give me that. Was it corrupt when it happened in your favor?

There is one second left when colts ball hit the ground you can go back and see that for yourself.

You still haven't answered my question. Was it corrupt?
Do I think we would have been given one second had we not been playing for the national championship? Probably not. it's hard to know what's going on in people's head but I can accept that it's possible we would have not been given that second back. The difference between you and I though that I can admit it.

There are plenty of reasons to hate Texas for the way our administration acted in those days and I don't refute any of that. I just laugh when people to make **** up like the longhorn network destroying the conference when your own school voted in favor of allowing us to do it.
Nebraska left because we were toying with the idea of moving to the pac-12 and I don't blame Nebraska one bit for leaving. **** deloss dodds

i haven't met the sooner fans you have
From my experience, it depends on the age of the fan. I lived in OKC from ‘98 to ‘06. Most of the older fans are cool and respect the rivalry.

There’s a bit of a gap though. When I got there, you wouldn’t see a ton of t-shirts, flags, or anything showing who were “fans.”

Probably the 2nd year of Stoops, and all these young people came out of the closet and were the most F’n obnoxious, annoying “fans” you would see anywhere.

While it sucks that Nebraska has sucked for a long time now, at least we still show up.

that's the older generation, 50+ crowd.

i've lived in Oklahoma for roughly 15 years. You have to consider that that average 30 year old fan was 8 the last time Nebraska was relevant to the national championship.

by and large, OU fans think they're Alabama but have just had the misfortune of bad reffing. they still cry about a game against Oregon (2006 maybe?) where they were "jobbed". they'll forever cry about Bedlam this year. they have crazy ex-gf syndrome about Lincoln Riley.

they do not even think about Nebraska, we're the same as Kansas to them.

Every OU fan I’ve spoke to speaks highly of Nebraska

Me too. Including Switzer. Met him in a bar on 2 separate occasions. Spoke very highly of Nebraska and especially TO both times. Actually a really cool guy to have drinks with. We just stood around and shot the **** for a few minutes one of the times, but the other time, for reasons I still don't quite understand, he helped himself to a seat at our table and ended up doing shots with us. That was a hell of a night. None of us, especially Switzer, could hardly walk when we left. Anyway...yeah, cool story bro

Yeah, Barry has a ton of respect for NU, and of course, Tom. They played against each other so they have a direct connection. Never met Barry but heard some very interesting stories about him at bars and such.

There’s a lot more that goes in to that then what your spinning.

Funny how you won’t comment on your blocking on the prop 48. If that **** happened today, UT would be labled racists. Plenty of guys came thru the Prop 48 program and changed their life for better because of it. Texas blocked kids, mostly inner city black kids, from escaping trouble and bettering their lives. The lack of shame for that is disgusting. And all because Prop 48 would never work in a city like Austin, not like it does in a city like Lincoln.

We're talking about the reason Nebraska left the conference I seriously doubt prop 48 was the reason. I hated dodds and the way he ran the department and the decisions he made. I don't know how I can be more clear about that.
I've been interacting with husker fan since the old scout board back in the early 2000s (colhusker, jj4nu, etc) and if there's anyone around left from that board they can validate that the three things I hated most was dodds, Oklahoma, and Greg Davis in that order.
I'm just trying to have an honest conversation about our history in the Big 12. Sure there's a lot more to it than what I brought up but there's only so much space here I can't write a dissertation. I'm just sad we lost our great rivalry regardless of who's to blame (dodds).
I just get sick of the dishonest longhorn network BS. We should have said no and asked for a big 12 network but Dodds was a greedy old **** and only cared about Texas and didn't care about the rest of the schools in the conference.
But it doesn't change the fact that Nebraska did vote for those rights that we took advantage of.

Yeah I got the games mixed up. there were actually two bowl games when Nebraska got a second put back on the clock but he still didn't answer my question whether or not it was corrupt when it favored Nebraska. I seriously doubt I'll get an answer. Nebraska was a big name and a powerful program and they got favorable calls just like we did. That's just college football. follow the money that's who gets the calls. It's nothing new it sucks but it's nothing new.

I've been around long enough to know there's way too much hate on your end to ever have a truly honest discussion about that infamous second. I've admitted I doubt we get it if we weren't playing for the national championship. I've just yet to see it a single husker answer the same question when it comes to those two games.
Just move on it's not worth arguing about.

Still complaining about the call? As much as I hated it, it was the right call. I wasn't there to see/hear who may of interfered and it really does not matter. They got the call right and someday, if we ever get good again, May benefit from the calls.

I get why Nebraska fans were upset about the call. If the tables were turned Texas fans would have been just as pissed. The truth is the good teams get the calls in most cases. It sucks but I don't know how we fix it. I've always thought there should be a national pool of referees that the NCAA controls and assigns games and takes it out of the hands of the conference. The conference has a lot of money to motivate them to get teams in the playoffs and that leads to a lot of **** like this.

All I know is there multiple reason why Nebraska, CU, Texas A&M, and Missouri bailed on the BIG12 and why TX, OU decided to leave the old BIG12 that is in shambles, it was a hot mess. Nebraska was not the first University to bail on Texas and the old SWC, Arkansas got out while the getting was good and went to the SEC and was better for it financially.

Hookem is a fan of Texas and I understand that but he must understand going forward Texas is not bigger than the SEC conference at least I hope he knows. The merging of teams to new conferences are done purely for financial reasons and to get away from cancerous relationships within conference head quarters.

Let's hope Texas has learned her lesson and will be a good member of a very solid conference and if she's good the rest of the conference will learn to respect her. It's taken Nebraska over a decade to learn this lesson and we finally got an AD and HC to understand we are not bigger than the BIG, but rather a proud member.

Nebraska still has to work on building it's standing in the BIG but I believe Nebraska is starting to do just that. Good luck Hookem in your new home.
