I was told he and his dad demanded guarantees as recently as yesterday?

Weird

Either way, welcome back

Hopefully this isn’t desperation from the staff and we get some kids who can win

Coming off torn ACL/MCL in September, plus his previous injury history, it would not be ideal.

I do like having a veteran in the room to help Raiola.

This dude just does not care who his coaches ever are. Glad he loves it here! He gets us to a bowl game last season and would be a nice addition to the room

Would be a very ideal situation. CT is a decent QB who, if we’re being 100% honest, won’t be healthy for all 12 games. I hope he does stay healthy, but this give DR some time to develop and learn before he has to play. And… if DR flat out beats CT and looks like the better option, I’m confident Rhule will start him. That would suck for CT, but that’s competition. Probably a huge reason CT is in play and we told McCord thanks but no thanks. Thompson wants to be here, he’s a proven commodity, he’s a lot cheaper and he’s willing to compete.

It’s crazy, if you told anyone a month ago that NU’s QB room would be compromised of Casey Thompson and Dylan Raiola they would’ve thought you were certifiably nuts…

I don’t think enough is being made of this latest injury.

Makes perfect sense. I wouldn't think he has pro aspirations at this point and wants to coach. Who better to learn from than Rhule? He was here for Rhule's first spring and by all accounts was very focused on learning the offense. He's coming off major surgery and probably knows chances of staying healthy for the whole season are pretty slim. He could come here and more or less be a player-coach for DR & DK.

Hope it happens if we don't have any better options.

He led the Big12 in passing one year and was on the Davey O’Brien list. 63% completions. 24 TDs versus 9 INTs. Over 2100 yards passing with a screwed up thumb on his throwing hand.

This is a good move to add depth. But that is all it would be, adding depth and experience to the room. No way he comes in and starts over DR.

the only year he started at UT, he didn't lead the big 12 in passing, he finished 6th.

if we don't have any better options, this offseason will be classified the same way as Year 1:

an unmitigated disaster

I think he led the Big 12 in TD's, not passing yards. Still, an experienced D1 QB to add depth. I've heard he also wants to be a coach someday, so this could also give him a leg up on that.

sure.

but only 1 of those bottom 3 are N at the moment, and it's the only one universally viewed as the farthest away from contributing.
So your confident that DR is still trolling us one last time before Wednesday?

sure.

with Texas talent and a playoff coach, CT managed to match the win total HH achieved in only 7 games with what everyone believes to be a bottom of the barrel roster around him.

I'm confident the media is never to be trusted.

100% of people here agree with me on that, unless of course the subject is positive news for the Huskers.

I said before and truly believe Dylan Raiola would have an immediate argument as being the biggest recruiting get in Nebraska Football history, so please don't do the simpleton thing and accuse me of not rooting for it.

yea.

really sucks the defense couldn't win just 1 more in 5 tries for the other 2 QBs on the roster.

oh, well. time to revise history put our prayer trinkets on.

I believe the defense let down the entire state by not winning just 1 single game in 5 tries with sims/purdy at QB.

it's the only logical conclusion if this board's dogma is to be taken seriously.

a shame.

oh well. it's the offseason - best time to be a Husker fan.

Why is everyone acting as if Casey will be getting any meaningful snaps? He’s still coming off a serious injury and knows his options are limited anywhere. He’s most likely walking on and getting a cushy NIL deal.

that's not logic, it's a stand alone statement of fact.
Now he’s being childishly disingenuous like always. No point in a conversation here. I’m honestly positive you’re on the spectrum, wether diagnosed yet or not. Your brand of absolutism is a symptom. Socially unaware.
