Well however it shakes out, Rhule and Nebraska are at least trying to better themselves and obviously willing to pay to do that which is a good sign. Putting up the bucks to keep White and understanding a top portal QB isn't cheap is a sign of putting their money where their mouth is.

Why can’t Rhule recruit and develop a QB?
We have an elite 11 commit who was committed to go play for a top 15 (edit: top 10) nationally ranked SeC team. He will be developed but he has to get here first

Your comment really isn't worthy of a reply but you should be posting that comment on the message boards of the other schools that are in hot pursuit of a portal QB (ie., USC, Miami, Wisconsin, etc.). Why does the USC QB whisperer need to go to the portal?

Everyone assumed DJU from Or State/Clemson would be the USC transfer but Lincoln R made this his QB offer and has been out to visit him

I'm sold on trying someone else and I'm sold on the fact that we aren't getting the best qb in the portal.
That’s the Catch 22. We need one of the best QBs from the portal but it’s tough to recruit a top QB to 5-7. Ironically Satterfield’s offense is probably a good fit for him and more NFLesque for a guy wanting to play on Sundays than some others.

Because we need to have a chance at a bowl next year? We don’t without a better QB. The guys we have are marginal backup QB’s.
You don’t have to throw shade at Haarberg and Purdy to make the case for a portal QB.

That era is over. In the portal era it doesn't even make sense to do this because guys don't have the patience to wait and be developed and will just hit the portal if they aren't getting playing time. We need immediate help at this position, the portal is the way to go.

You can probably do that with a homegrown kid like Kaelin. National recruits probably not.

REALLY? Not questioning their heart or their toughness, don’t hear it the wrong way. You wanna review their stats tho? Most of those turnovers were self-inflicted. Obviously a below-average O-line didn’t help their case, but c’mon man. Portal QB, toss in Kaelin and see what happens, or expect more of the same if we can’t bring in someone who can find wide-open WR’s. Happened too many times to count.

You also realize how much worse our schedule just became… permanently?

Damn man. Don’t worry. Be happy. All the PAC 12 teams are losing their QBs. Relax.

I'm sold on the coaches doing their job and then the player being rewarded for putting in the time to better themselves that pays off on the field with a nice NIL endorsement. Silly, I know.

this is the most inportant single thing rhule will do..he needs to look at all options for qb, and decide on his offensive identity

Will Howard is a marginally good qb. He is not a difference maker.
Seems like a consolation prize.
Hope for something better. But if he wants to come here, it would be laughable to throw much money at him.

Its posts like this that make it hard to take you seriously. I’m not trying to be mean, just don’t understand this take.

Should I believe you, or the coaches that are attempting to woo him to their school? There are a lot of talking heads as well who speak highly of him. What makes you think he’s marginal at best?

Marginally good QB okay this year would have won us 8 games.

If we got Howard only I’d be thrilled, but we should go after two guys. One with 2+ years of eligibility.
