Hard to be a hero in your own neighborhood. Will Howard 2023 QBR = 75. Cubba Purdy’s QBR this year 74 and he has a 7 yard per carry rushing average…. Just sayin.
keep the facts to a minimum please. go with the fake hype

Howard’s passer rating was 140 and Chubba’s was 111. TD to INT 24/10 for Howard compared to 2/3 for Chubba. I don’t dislike Purdy, but Howard is a much more complete and polished QB at this point.
both of these facts seem to contradict each other

SSO is pretty darned solid. He was a regular contributor on another board but left after dealing with too many twits. He seems to be plugged into the program or staff and often has inside info that stands up. I trust what he says.
Like what, for an example? When did he post some inside info that came true that wasn’t already floating around ?
I doubt these so called insiders who don’t actually know ****. I could say that we aren’t likely to land a top QB, and if we did then what?
The internet is full of **** talkers, you know

Are you serious? He left there two or three years ago, how in the hell do I answer that question? SSO pissed off the nostrodami of that board because he was right more often than not. It never ceases to amaze me how someone be polarizing because they're correct.

qbr 140 vs 75?

He is using QBR (which is a weird stat IMO). I was using passer rating. Any metric showing a guy with this line:

CMPATTCMP%YDSAVGTDINTLNGRTG
315754.43826.72366111.7

As having as good of a year as a guy with this stat line:

CMPATTCMP%YDSAVGTDINTLNGRTG
21935761.32,6437.4241061140.1

Is crazy.

I was serious. I really don’t know who SSO is and with all these Twitter fools basically regurgitating stuff I find on here, I am skeptical of guys saying stuff. Hell, I stopped being a premium member because there really isn’t inside info anymore

Id suggest signing up for SSOs newsletter. Its free and he offers up really good analysis. He is not your typical media hype driven buffoon. I dont look at twitter so I could be wrong, but he is usually very measured in his approach. He is not trying to be a big story breaker guy. Just good info.

Ah, gotcha. Sorry, I misunderstood you. Regarding SSO, I read his posts for years on HuskerMax. The only proof I can give you is that in my experience reading him, his stuff was correct over 80% of the time. He never said but I assumed he was plugged into the program somehow. This was during the Bo and Riley eras. He left around the time of Frost but not sure about the date.

What’s weird about QBR? It’s commonly used as a gauge of a QB’s total offensive efficiency including designed runs, scrambles, etc. Passer rating alone doesn’t factor in runs. QBR is a more complete analysis.

RedReign is a dingus moderator on that site and chased off good posters and content
At least SSO has his own newsletter and blog now
It’s worth a look for those that haven’t seen it

He can have a heavy hand but you'll never see some of the pissing contests on that board that happen here. Tradeoffs either way I guess.

It always seems to spit out weird numbers like above. I guy with 3 total TD’s and 3 INT’s. Has essentially the same rating as a guy with 33 total TD’s to 10 INT’s, with a better completion percentage and more yards per attempt. That is just odd.

I seem to remember the guy being a solid poster awhile back. I guess after as terrible as we have been the last decade, some guys feel betrayed and disillusioned with the whole thing. Unfortunately it's probably a lot more common in this fanbase than we'd like to admit.
I knew fan apathy was officially setting in when the Big Red Cobcast disbanded.

Chubba has a very small sample size so it’s probably not a great measure to use either metric. That said, passer rating doesn’t account for some VERY important factors most notably mobility.

I think you gotta be a little more aggressive with your 2nd QB transfer if Howard is the guy. Gotta bring in someone younger, but someone who can potentially compete with Howard. Jmo
IF you sign Howard, he’s your starter barring unforeseen circumstances.

I thought Leavett's tape looked really good.
Looks like he makes quick decisions. Good athlete too
Accurate. Completed 65% of passes this yr, small sample size but completed 70% of his passes as a HS Senior also
