10-2 Oklahoma would have been the one crying in their beer because 18th seed Liberty would knock them out having with being the highest seeded non power5 team.

Liberty would travel to Tallahassee to play Florida St..

No one will care about the 12th seed but fans of 2 or 3 teams. Everyone cares about the 4th seed this year.

FSU finished 4th in the AP, they probably would have gotten a bye since it wouldn't keep the SEC out of the 12 team playoffs.

P.S. In the upcoming system you would have had UGA, Bama, Oregon, and Ohio State with first round home games, I guarantee you the money people would have been pushing to give FSU a bye to get their #2 QB healthy.

Oklahoma has only themselves to blame for not handling business against Oklahoma State who was embarrassed by UCF and South Alabama and not handling business against a 4 loss Kansas team.

There is an ocean of difference here; this isn't comical. We are talking a major FBS conference champion whom was left out.

In basketball they still can't seem to select 80 teams for a tournament with out bitching about who was left out. In football we should play 6 games starting in early August. On October 1st every team with at least 4 wins would enter a lottery type pool. Sub 4 winners would negotiate contracts with each other or FBS teams to complete a 12 game season. Four game P5 winners would all be entered into a Powerball type drawing except two teams would be selected by chance to go head to head for all teams in the pool. Win or go to the losers bracket. Drawings the next week including in the loser's bracket. Finally in mid January the winner of both brackets would meet for the College Championship game. The two teams that made it to that game would be the best two teams in college football by action on the field of play rather than a committee selection.

Put all 133 FBS teams in a single elimination tournament at the start of the season. Whoever makes it to the bitter end is the champion.
