They’ll be no excuse if they do land a big time QB in the portal. I just wonder who they are interested in, and if they are indeed worth 2 Million.

Wish there were a “I wont donate no matter what” option. Or a “I expect NU to funnel big ten money to nil” option.

The Purdy/Rhule development option…what?? What have we seen from Purdy that would make us think he’s ever going to step up and win us games? Other than the first 6 minutes against Wisconsin, what has he done in his 2 years here that makes anyone think that next year, he’ll suddenly put it all together?

It’s nothing personal; I’m sure Purdy’s a good guy. But we need WINS, not a wish and a prayer and a pocketful of dreams. We just had 4 entire years of that with AMart, and Purdy’s decision-making might be even worse than Adrian’s! With Chubba, I think that what you see is just about what you’re going to get.

It causes me despair to see what college football has become. Nevertheless, can’t get nostalgic for the good ol’ days of universities making millions and players getting nothing but a scholarship. These days you must pay for the elite players. If Nebraska won’t do that for an elite, program changing QB, then Trev can take his $450 million renovated stadium and shove it where the sun doesn’t shine. We could have been 11-1 this year if we had just had a good QB. We need a few million to buy a QB or it is going to be more of the same **** going forward. So do it. Purdy? Sims? HH? Give me a break.

Athletic Dept evidently won't work w/ 1890, or anything linked to MD. Solution there is overhauling 1890, or legislation allowing the Dept to internalize NIL donations. Someone else please feel free to chime in here with more knowledge about this. Either way, it's my understanding that this is why they did literally nothing this last offseason (and in turn basically wasted a season with a team that realistically had no chance). The TEAM needs a couple/3 new QB's, WR's, O-Line and how that's gonna be accomplished is not clear... if they can't resolve their internal politics and get it done THIS OFFSEASON, there should be empty seats next year, and I'd earnestly hope donors pocket their money with stadium improvements. What happened last offseason was f*cking inexcusable.

Did Matt D start the 1890? If true why was he annoyed to run it? The whole 1890 sounds sketchy

Absolutely agree. It may not be necessary to do every year, but going in to next year they need to spend whatever it takes to bring In a real talent at QB. It only takes one season to turn it around and they are literally one player away from making that turn a reality.

You say you despise what college football has become but yet you are actively calling for gutting our entire qb roster? Purdy and HH will make fine backups. I don't disagree that we need to go out and try to find the best starting caliber qb available, and be willing to pay the market rate for making it happen.

Rhule said in his PC that they want to be old school and develop players. This made me think they wouldn't go after anyone with a market rate NIL request.

I believe the Peed’s brothers who own Sandhills global were the the ones who started 1890 and Davidson helps run it, but I have no idea why he was asks too..

don't know the answer to that. This ****'s basically all brand new, and largely unregulated. Basically can just pony up a bunch of cash and straight-up try and buy guys off of other teams' rosters. Unlimited transfers. Mental health transfers. And 60 teams with way more spending potential than we have, a couple dozen with EXPONENTIALLY more spending power, which will NEVER change.

It's absolutely ridiculous, yet we need to embrace it as a fanbase, because it's WE and ONLY WE who have the power to make our team competitive again. IMHO NO COACHING STAFF could've make a Championship-caliber team out of what we had this year. We're Permanently disadvantaged against dozens of other programs the way it's currently structured (aka Free-for-all, spend as much as you want Texas-Style), with pretty solid confidence that this will be regulated with our without the NCAA, in the hopefully near future. The alternative will be more seasons like we all just suffered through.

Rhule has thrown down the gauntlet with his public proclamation of good QB's starting @ a Mil. He's 1000% right. Thank F*cking God he said it aloud! Someone in the program needed to. Been Silent for a year.

He understands the reality of our situation. We don’t have the depth of alumni booster support that much larger universities do. We’re not going to be able to outbid Texas and Michigan for a QB. The other HUGE factor is that the guy has to be willing to go to a program that hasn’t been to a bowl in 7 years.

You should be able to see the poll, Kong. Your one vote for HH makes up 1.8% of the total tally as of 7:40 AM today.
Make the votes public. Its insanely easy.

Accountability may not be important in trev’s athletic dept, but it is here

Do the 3 people who voted for a certain 2 QB's own a TV....and know how to turn them on?
9 people voted for a kid who’s won zero games in 4 years and can’t even face the media because he’d start bawling

There are just a lot of complete dimwits who post here

I suppose in many ways, this is kind of like the NFL. You must have a good quarterback to win games. Therefore, the quarterback is the highest paid person on the team. That’s just economics and the law of supply and demand.

My answer = None Of the Above. No-one on our current roster should be playing QB in the FBS. Period.
1890 is evidently a non-starter for the Dept.
Have given money to 1890 already that has apparently evaporated.

option #6) if the NCAA can't legislate the means to circumvent 1890 and inject Talent via Money into our team during THIS offseason, they need to do it the Old-Fashioned way. Do it anyway.

I think they voted for the best QB on our roster, which seems OK to me. I did not, but I get why they would.
Some people understand that no matter who the QB is we need more help for them. They also understand that ALL QBs are going to throw picks and fumble . Taylor Martinez did. Tommy Armstrong did. Zac Taylor did.

Those posters also understand that this was the first year of a new offense with devastating skill position injuries. We played 3 QBs and 2 of those guys had zero or very little previous game experience. As Rhule stated, those 2 guys have room for growth.

Personally I believe it’s going to be tough to attract a QB people are going to be happy with unless we way over pay. Proven QBs aren’t interested in teams who haven’t been to a bowl for 7 years no matter the money. You still have to try to get one.
