He absolutely had a choice. Plenty of coaches have been retained for getting a DUI.not for performance...he really had no choice.
Trying to catch up with this thread. What immediate results are you referring to? Looks to me like Rhule is winning right now. You're not guessing. I've stated many times I didn't want Rhule, he was way down on my list. Why would you not expect immediate results with the price we are paying? That salary isn't because he's a nice guy, it's because he's got massive expectations. Don't cash the checks if you don't want that, this isn't Hastings College.
I'm retired now but if you paid me 1.5 to do the job I'll figure it out, I'm not hiring people so it's not my responsibility. One guy I really liked was Leipold, and he absolutely would have come, in fact he was waiting for the call. Obviously, the first call would be to Urban to make him say no, it's not realistic but for what you're trying to do you make the call.
Get a grip my man, I've posted this so many times. I've said you make Urban say no (seems like MSU is about to hire him, so we'll see what it would have been like I guess), other people in no particular order Kiffin, Chadwell, Leipold, Fickell, wayyyy down the list was Rhule.Urban? LMAO Your the fan selling your soul to bring in a coach who has miles of baggage from each school he left. I don't want his baggage here. We don't need a coach shoving his finger in the crotch of coeds for the world to see. I won't even go into the other schools he left prior.
As for Liepold, he's done a decent job at KU but he's in his 60's so long term, he's not a good fit for longterm winning. I think KU is a good fit for him at his stage of life. I don't believe he would have left KU. His first year at KU he was 2-10, year 2 he went 6-7 and is currently 6-2 this year. Going by what you said above, you would have fired him in his first year.
So who are the other coaches?
