So help me with all of the logic here.

Our starting QB from last year was hurt, not much behind him so Rhule brings in Sims. People on here raved about his strong arm, yadda yadda. Now he needs to go and Rhule was a fool for bringing him here. What were our other options.

The one thing most on here can agree on is we still do not have good O line play and at times is downright awful.

We lost two RBs to injuries.

Our WR room is probably as weak as it has ever been.

Conclusion to all of this is to fire the OC. Tell me what he has to work with?
Well, no quibble on bringing Sims in, that was the right thing to do at the time. I am looking ahead and unless something changes big time with his turnovers then we should move on with Haarberg and Kaelin and someone else.
I don’t love Satts offense but I guess I can give him some rope due to personnel issues etc

So many times I scratched my head when Whipple, Frost, Langsdorf, etc. called plays. I have yet to be perplexed by Satt's playcalling on a routine basis like coordinators prior (except for the three pass play series Satterfield called in the 4th Q at Minnesota right after we completed a 7-minute scoring drive by primarily rushing). AND...he can actually make adjustments at half. I'm not sure if he decided to pound the rock after half last week or whether Rhule told him to, but the offense was effective after half. Now that I'm getting used to what he is doing I can see what he is all about and think he is doing OK. I don't think we would even be having this conversation if he had WRs who could get open often and a transfer QB who didn't make too many turnovers..

I rarely if ever question play calling except at times when eating the clock could be important. There are just too many variables.

What even constitutes the "right play call"? Is just running or one that nets yards? What is the right play call?

What works on one play or series may not work on the next. The D adjusts constantly. Or does it even matter what the D is doing? I submit it does and the casual fan doesn't see the angles, shading, half steps, etc of adjustment from play to play.

What did the coach actually call and did the QB change it? Was it an RPO where someone just made a bad read?

If a play works it is a good play, if it didn't it was a bad call. I could see what Whipple and Frost were trying to do. Both were successful at other places calling plays. They come to Nebraska and suddenly become idiots without a clue.

See Raiola is at the game today. He should see how he'd be a starter day 1, just have to get boosters to match what GA and usc offered in nil.

The offense is already on their 3rd OC in 3 years. I’m not sure changing OCs would be helpful. Satt is adjusting to the guys he has after losing 2 of their top WRs and their top 2 RBs.
Excuses.. thats all they are. I am in the camp that doesnt like his play calls at all.. not impressed by any game hes called this year. NONE!! Pass plays when we need to run it down minn throat. Too cute against CO.... no thanks

It's not the NIL for Raiola (his family has enough money), it's the preparation for his post college NFL career that's most important to him. He picked Georgia for its coaches.

Doubt it, otherwise he's headed to USC as fast as possible. Georgia does not have a good track record of developing pro qbs, as a matter of fact, they've had quite a few highly rated qb busts roll through there.

Well you can have a different opinion of course but It was his Dad's opinion about the coaches and experience with some of them in the NFL that made the difference. Read the interviews with his Dad.

So yer sayin there’s a chance. He hasn’t signed yet and Georgia is taking 2 QBs I think.
There's a decent chance he might transfer some where else during his career BUT I think it's virtually zero that he'd come to Nebraska (as a player). He might continue to come to some games as a fan or to support his Uncle.

From Nebraska writer at TOS:

“Recruiting may not exactly be over for Nelson himself. On Friday in Elgin, Notre Dame had a recruiting staff member there and the Irish aren’t done working on the Top247 recruit. Nelson may not be done with them either as there’s talk of a potential visit back to South Bend for the USC game later this month.

Nelson, for his part, doesn’t deny that Notre Dame has stayed in the picture.

“Honestly I have no idea (on a visit),” Nelson said. “It’s a really tough topic. I love my guys down there. I really do. I still have a lot of thinking to do.”

That would be disgusting.

Doubt he stays a Husker. I had heard the talk of him opening his recruitment but didnt think it was true. Now I know why coaches are still looking to add a TE.

Satterfield frustrates me because I feel like he could use screens to mitigate some of the pass rush pressure we get. But overall I feel like he is trying to call the game so we win and complement our defense. I feel last year Whipple was more concerned with scoring and calling it his way then actually winning.
Can't run a screen when your QB sidearms the pass.

Then I hope we fire his underperforming Uncle and then he doesn't have to visit at all

Wow. Just goes to show, a kid can host a “commitment” ceremony in his HS gym, announce on social media your “decision”, but it’s never over until the kid signs on the dotted line.

You are upset about Pyfrom decommiting from Illinois?
LOL! thought he was committed to us

figured he would be considering he's homegrown

I'm upset about having an OL coach who's never recruited in his life learning on the job here

now that you corrected me (thank you), I do remember several "we didn't want him anyway" posts after his commitment
