What I find funny is that you associate the words thug and hood with black people, I think that says more about your stance on race. I can provide you with a long list of people of different ethnicities, many of whom are white, who grew up in the hood and act thuggish. Your stance is akin to the statement by those who say scholastic standards should be lowered for black students. If you break it down too it’s core, they are saying black children are too dumb to compete with children of other ethnicities academically, now that is highly racist.

I think the time dad and the locker room was robbed in Jackson, MS might have made him more aware of flashing the bling and showboating but apparently there are still lessons to learn.
More and more his actions show how privileged and elitist thinking he has been allowed to have for his life. Yes, he works hard and props for the hard work. But the life lessons need to grow up for him and it would appear many around Coach and the kids, worry they won’t happen or the cost will be more costly than money.
I grew up in a local version of the hood and hung with thugs and punks of different shading. Some never grew out of it and some never got a chance to. For those that were able to grow up beyond the culture of our youth, they have made a good life. The thug and punk isn’t out of them but they become more and moved beyond it.
