Would be heaven!

With the next two games against Northwestern and Purdue at home, then going to East Lansing with a reeling MSU

We could be 6-3(you know bowl eligible) before the first snow fall!

anything else after that would be icing on the cake.

Sunshine pumping I know, but let’s remember that the BIG West is a proverbial dumpster fire. A tallest midget contest if you will.

We’ve been saying we should be these teams for years and we don’t. Hopefully it’ll be different this year but we’re still pretty early on in the Rhule era and we’re lacking talent

This is exactly my expectation.. we should win the next 4 and be 6-3 heading into the final stretch of games in November.
If this happens the confidence should aid in winning 1 to 3 in Nov

Don't count ur chickens. But yes it's doable. Minnesota loss continues to look worse and worse though.

Nebraska is in its best position at this stage of the season in years. The opportunity to have a good - even great - season is all there.

There really is A LOT riding on this game tonight. Can NU FINALLY rise to the challenge and take advantage of an opportunity? Please let the answer be yes.

This. This paper scenario has been the same for years and we find a way to slip to the lowest possible outcome. Until proven otherwise, that is where this program is.

I was watching the video clip of practice and I was stuck by how difficult it would be to develop a great D when they go against a below average O each week. It has to be a tremendous adjustment going against our O during the week and then against a team like Michigan.

I want to believe…I really do. But I just don’t see this team getting to 6. I’m not sure we get out of tonight with a W.

Same. If it doesn't go well early I'll be turning down the sound and listening to Volleyball.

The volleyball game will be on my 70” screen, I will setup a 43” tv to the side with the football game on mute. My daughters fiancé was a little put out when I told him. I let him know that winners get preference on my big screen, losers are relegated to the small screen and will be silenced. We have one elite program at the university right now, that is women’s volleyball.

You and me both, I wasn’t confident all week and then I became even less confident when it was was announced that Dick Butkus passed. As if Illinois needs any extra motivation, we usually find away to lose the game on our own.

Won't happen if Sims is qb...
Has Simms been announced the starter? I believe this is HH team now. I think the convenient injury allowed them to kot make a deal of it and just move forward. Do you know something I dont? I dont pay nearly as much attention as I used to.

I don't know for sure, just hearing a lot of rumblings... Hopefully it's wrong.

That is probably true, but I find it funny that many in this fan base are acting like HH is the second coming. It probably won’t happen with any of the QB’s we have, let me refresh everyone’s memory. HH is 2-1 with his 2 wins coming against No. Illinois and La. Tech. No. Illinois is 1-4 with losses to Nebraska, So. Illinois, Tulsa, and Toledo. La. Tech is 3-4 with wins against FIU, NW St., and UTEP, losses against Nebraska, SMU, North Texas, and Western Kentucky. Nothing in that data inspires confidence in HH to lead us anywhere.

This game is key to getting to six wins. Gonna be really tough, but not impossible, if we drop this one. You get a divisional road win, then have 2 very winnable divisional games at home. But… for some reason I have a bad feeling about this fvcking game, there’s not really one tangible metric that jumps out and causes concern. I guess it’s just more an indictment of my personal trust level in this team. Nonetheless, I feel we will make this game a lot tougher than it should be. Just got a bad feeling…

The only hope would be for the defense to bounce back after last week. The offense will hopefully get some chunk plays here and there. The key for them would be not to turn the ball over and don’t let HH take sacks. This will be an ugly game win or lose.

I doubt it. The program is just something beyond reckoning anymore. I really don't know what to think. We find more ways to lose games and waste seasons then any team I've ever seen....Maybe the Cubs? I don't know...But it sucks.

For me, it’s not about the math of adding a game to our win total as much as it’s about the fact that losing to this Illini team is a pretty clear indicator that we suck as bad as it seems we might, and therefor aren’t winning enough games throughout the rest of the season for the math to matter anyway.

To be fair, I think people are reacting to HH being the second coming because this coaching staff chose to bring over a turnover machine.

And there’s that… If we can’t beat this Illinois team, who can we beat? We drop this game and Northwestern might be the only remaining game we’re favored to win.

And Northwestern hung 37 on Minny. I could easily see the team winning the next two games and then laying an egg against Northwestern. It would be so characteristic of them to do so.
