I've already stated play HH for the rest of the year. Who cares, Nebraska won't win **** with him. Go out and get a legit qb in the portal. Pony up the money and get someone worth a damn...
logoff until your extremely injured feelings heal, loser

First ever start after playing 1 quarter 3 years removed from C1 football looking just as good as the 4th year starter he's replacing

DEVELOP HIM AND LET'S WIN SOME F'ING GAMES!

will be a 5th year Sr in Rhules magical Year 3

anyone who disagrees:

It’s a win! I’ll take it.

We have a LOT of improvement to make. We need to recruit Much Better Olinemen. But it’s what we got for now.

We didn’t cough the ball up like the last two games.
I’m hoping the young WRs get more involved. We don’t really have anyone that gets separation.

Teddy is playing, so hopefully he stays healthy and gets better with experience.

Not really impressed with Lutovsky, but he is young too. So I hope he gets a LOT better with reps

Our D is really Good!

kong, one of your posts really resonated with me after this game…you play HH now, let him get the reps, experience and continue to get better…by Rhule’s year 3 you’ve got an experienced gamer and maybe NU has a magical season

If frost had any vision he’d already be in his 3rd year starting, as I was begging and pleading for preseason 2021

Better late than never

Not really a size difference

All I am saying is that Simms was an elite 11 QB. Scouts rave about his potential. He has a very high ceiling. But his floor is so low. He makes terrible mistakes and turns the ball over like crazy.

HH played well. of he gets his deep ball figured out, he could be great.
Sims has started 26 games. I'm not sure he has some crazy leap in him. It's HH who has potential. I don't care what scouts say. That dude is a perfect example of recruiting hype carrying over.

Well, I can’t think of a reason to go back to Sims. As an athlete, Sims is definitely more explosive, but the risk just isn’t worth the reward. Keep developing HH, hope the D holds up, the O-line improves and that we develop a passing game. I do believe we would be 2-1 had HH started from the jump and that’s enough for me to roll with him.
HH just looked poised and confident. Decision making was excellent. Just ran the offense. Demonstrated excellent running ability but wasn’t reliant on it. Knew when to throw it away.

I too think we would be 2-1 if he had started from beginning.

Yeah, let's make a final evaluation after one game against NIU at home. HH did OK, but wasn't exactly a world beater either. Our defense won that game last night.

This team needs 5 more wins and we’ll be playing better teams than NIU.

HH did what he was asked and played a solid game and made good decisions and deserves a B rating for the game..

Have no issues with him being the starter but Nebraska offense is going to have to help the defense win some bigger games down the road…

If Sims's first two games are not true examples of his potential level of play, then all the better for NU. HH and Sims have very comparable games and that allows both to be played without having to significantly adjust play calling. And given the amount the QB will be run, expect both will be playing this season.

One game from HH, 30+ from Sims

I’ll take what I saw last night over all 4 years I’ve seen from Sims.

So would everyone else.

The team responded to him. He’s their brother, not some awkward intruder who was oversold and has underperformed

HH did what he was asked and played within himself and that is what is needed. Coaches seemed to be more cautious with the play calling with him in and that is needed too…

I'm not going to hope for good play from one to the exclusion of the other. Given the amount the QB runs in this offense, both players will be needed when games are in doubt.

It was against a below avg NIU team. But he looked good. He's gotta be the guy.

HH is the guy? Maybe. At least for the next game.

Certainly played very well before a friendly crowd against the worst of the three opponents. Both Minnesota and CU crowds were pretty insane and it’s anyone’s guess how much that affected Sims. I’m sure we’ll see Sims again at some point unless the high ankle sprain persists, as they are known to do.

I think the best we can hope for is a qb that limits turnovers, so our very good defense can win the games.

I can’t speak for the crowd noise in Minneapolis, but I can in Boulder and it was very loud.: Still not enough excuse to drop 2 snaps not alone not to get on top of them that were dropped..

Whatever they decide to do at QB, they need to make sure that to improve the passing game because you're not going to win in the Big 10 without being able to pass the ball.

If Simms needs friendly crowds, he simply is not the guy

It's besides the point, Simms is 100% not the guy, and to start him is to actively sabotage potential wins

It doesn't matter if Simms got paid NIL money. It doesn't matter if he doesn't sperg out on his reads in practice. It matters that directly contributed to opposing teams taking leads more than once, and completely deflates a badass defense.

HH seems to be a slightly better Zac Lee, which is exactly what you need to win the B10W

I have no idea what's being discussed here. Simply TL;DR. Anyhow.

Haarberg. B+. Tremendous effort and show. Overall good performance, but did miss wide open receivers routinely, which led to unnecessary tuck & runs. Nebraska does not blow NIUs doors off without him. He may not have the talent, but his heart is greater. He has won the job. End of story.

RBs: At first I was disappointed, because HH kept it so much. But, then it blossomed slowly. Ervin gets a B. Grant gets a B+. Got it done.

WR: C+. Struggled with getting open and drops.

TE: B. Feels great to see Fidone. He Comin.

OL: Let me down... C-. Not picking up the DL and LBs, leading to no gains way too often. Too much penetration. The 1st Q was especially terrible.

D: A. Throw The Bones. Nuff' said

I assume that Sims was the much better passer in practice than HH and Purdy. I think the reluctance with continuing HH as the starter is a matter of Rhule/Satterfield thinking Simms can make the same throws in practice during a game.

I think it has a lot more to do with rhule promising sims the job & that's the only way he'd get him to come here

I have no clue why anyone brings purdy's name up anymore he's the clear #3

Kemp is the only one that’s been getting some room , we need to start getting separation from our receivers or it isn’t going to matter who the QB is..

Sean Callahan claimed Minnesota was a zoo, too. Certainly not excusing Sims but until HH has played in a hostile environment and against a good opponent or two, I will wait on proclaiming him the qb with “it” factor. As for the bad turnover inside his 5, the oline surely gets most of the blame, but we can’t have those kind of mistakes against better teams. The defense played better than great until the scrubs gave up the late 4th quarter TD and showed for the third time we don’t need a lot from the offense except lack of turnovers.
