Fast, great physique but this isn't a QB that's going to put points on the board.

Was it just a sham competition?

I understand we don't have much for weapons but #87 was open for an easy touchdown...very elementary read imo

Well, it has to be Sims. Purdy is just a waste. No coach seems to want to put Harrberg in a game. I guess we are screwed.

Sims never officially beat him out. Thompson was hurt anyway so he hung around for his last NIL payment. Then he hit the portal almost immediately after that. I think Thompson thought he saw the "writing on the wall" so he didn't stick around to compete for real in the fall.

Would Sims have won the job anyway? Probably. He's a better fit for the offense.
