6-6 prediction sounds like it is flowing with the wind of critics... No way Iowa should be favored and @ is a toss up Michigan St.

I am going 8-4 where we are favored

@Minnesota (We win, but I get the spread)
@Wisconsin
Michigan
@Illinois

From what I can see all games really are winnable... Michigan obviously will be tough, but it is at home

Let's be honest - the oddsmakers have zero reason to think we won't be the Nebraska of late. I wish that weren't true, and I wish that even I could have reason to believe - oddsmakers unfortunately do not factor in hope/faith into their formulas.

I hope this is the year that I return to the "I think we'll win this game; will be upset if we don't" mentality.

I'm beat down as a fan. But I just bought a shitload of fresh Husker gear for the season, so at least there's that!

Today, if forced to place 3 $100 wagers, or for you rich mfers, a significant amount of money to you, which games would you play.

In no particular order
I'll take the 12 1/2 vs Wisconsin
I'll lay the 3 1/2 vs Purdue
I'll take the 2 1/2 vs Mich St.

Iowa as a home dog was number 4

Nebraska -3.5 against Purdue would be easy number one for me. Illinois -3.5. Then Nebraska -17.5 against NW.

Anyone that has 1/2 brain doesn’t bet any games till the week of the game..

Maybe you can get away with week one and two it’s doable after that it’s too risky..

RIsky yes can can be a high reward if yer right...maybe a QB gets injured and the line a week before the game would adjust for that...locking it in now could be the way to play it....maybe the wheels fall off a program like Colorado...IDK...if you're not laying the house payment on it I think it would be a great thing to play with....you'd find yourself doing a ton more research on a future opponent to....take our Iowa game...with all their gambling probs...Jr with a 25 point caluse in his contract...i'm betting that one now...Iowa could implode huge and I could see us favored

So odds makers have it 6-6, with 5 of the games being basically tossups.

So you need to be very selective on what is a for sure bet , which means a couple of spreads in the first part of the season.

I don't know about that. Sometimes you can find early lines that appear out of whack. So you take a flyer. Then if the line changes, you can always hedge.

Additionally, betting the win totals is betting on games 3 months in advance. Yet even people with 3/4 to 7/8 of a brain bet on those props.

Well of course, but that isn’t in the narrative of the post..

That changes things betting to hedge your bet..

O/U also have nothing to do with me he spread of the game..

That’s what the weekly money line is for.

How? You seem to believe that the average Joe is placing 6 figure bets on these early lines. If you find what you believe to be an attractive line you can bet a unit or 2 and still not be dodging the landlord or avoiding the OPPD shut off calls.

If I bet $20 on Nebraska to cover the 12 1/2 against Wisconsin. I am not forbidden to bet the game again or take a different side or number.

The Wisconsin game is just begging for people to bet on Nebraska. Wisconsin will be average at best....

You’ve got a lot of money to win with under 6.5 wins being +105 for Illinois. They may have the “easiest” crossover schedule in the West.
Haven’t seen their schedule and don’t care if they beat indiana and Rutgers

They’ll be crappy & won’t beat anyone of note

As I stated in another thread I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see them lose week 1 to Toledo

Abused Husker Fan thinks they can't get 5-6 wins.

They are favored or within a TD in 9 games.

This is a (wet) dream schedule for a new coach.

"Nebraska -7½ (-115) @ Colorado"

I'd rather go into this game as the dog with a chip on our shoulder. This is going to be an emotional game.

It is more emotional for fans than players. The only memory any of these players have about Colorado is the two games played when Frost was coaching. They don’t have the tie to the past that the fans do.

In some aspects I think Nebraska going into the Minnesota game with a little bit of a chip on their shoulder trying to get back having a winning season..

I do think the players feel a little bit of it because of the fans. I knew some players on the team from the last couple of losses and they said their was a little extra and they felt the same from the CU players. I agree they probably don't give a **** about the rivalry, but they feel the hate coming from the fans towards them.

Does your guy not put out early lines?
As soon as they are updated when the current line comes out on Sunday.

He has lines on Nebraska first two games but they can change depending what Vegas has..currently
+7.5 on Minnesota
-7.5 on Colorado

Anyone see a line that they like right now?

Nothing really sticks out at the moment.
toledo +9
tcu -20

NU -3 vs maryland (tua's bro injury makes this -17)
NU +7.5 @ minn
NU +3 vs iowa (their broken qb who hasn't played in 2 years seems broken again)

I LOVE tcu -20.

I do like NU +7.5

I MIGHT like the unders in that Illini/Toledo game. Neither of those teams will score

NU getting points vs Iowa is a lock, won't be shocked if NU is favored when that game comes around.

I still LOVE OSU -27 at Indiana and the Irish

I think toledo will score early and often if they can hang onto the ball & protect their QB

not sure illini can keep up
