Is there an update on Benning? Is he out? Maybe I missed it.
SIAP. Is Vanderbilt still in play for him?? Think DB is pretty tight with Dan Jackson, their defensive backs coach, from previous Omaha Burke years. Other than getting your butt kicked every week as a SEC bottom feeder, choosing Vanderbilt would be a solid choice. Wish him luck.

I’m good with these top players committing to Georgia, as we have received transfers from them lately. If Frazier sits next year and wants to go elsewhere, he knows what Nebraska has to offer. And if we have a good year this year, Nebraska is that much more appealing to transfers as well.

Actually he is the number one APB and has a national ranking of all players at #70. Kameron Davis is the number one RB with a national ranking of all players at #39, so Frazier is actually number two if you by Rivals.

One of the top remaining recruits for Nebraska in the 2024 class is Grant Brix. The On3 top 100 recruit plans to commit in the coming weeks.

That story has been on Benning’s mind because he is getting similar reactions as his recruiting process extends into his senior prep season. He has scholarship tenders from Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa and Wisconsin that he could accept at any time. The consensus three-star 2024 prospect has been weighing future options with his family since Thanksgiving 2021, when the Huskers were the first to extend an offer.
A decision could come in mid-September.
“I’m really only focusing on Nebraska,” Benning said. “Kansas State has heavy interest as well.”
The younger Benning, of course, has been to Nebraska countless times including for a recent barbeque recruiting event. Coach Matt Rhule and the staff have his attention for their efforts toward scholarship players and walk-ons alike. Guys he used to view solely as competitors in Bellevue West standouts Daniel Kaelin, Dae’vonn Hall and Isaiah McMorris — all 2024 Husker commits — are becoming friends, too.

A long process will thankfully wrap up soon, Benning said. He knows boxing superstar and Omaha native Terence 'Bud' Crawford — his dad works with him at Crawford’s gym — and likens his recruiting mentality to a combatant pushing into the final rounds.
